WORK - Requiem for a Memory
In 2049, society was weakened by the numerous tensions between humans and their slaves created by bio-engineering. Officer K is a Blade Runner: he is part of an elite intervention force to find and eliminate those who do not obey human orders. When he discovers a secret buried long ago and able to change the world, the highest instances decide that it is his turn to be hunted and eliminated. His only hope is to find Rick Deckard, a former Blade Runner who has been missing for decades...
Miraculously faithful on the background as on the form Blade Runner of the Ridley Scott, this late suite (35 years later anyway !) is a mature, melancholic and raced dystopia more contemplative than carried on the action, whose slow immersion in sepulchral places (with sneezing beauty) and reflexive meditation on the foundations of the human condition (pushed further than in the first part), permanently haunt the mind. Better than her elder (if I swear), this huge existential odyssey is a gift of value made in art 7. A masterpiece!

If perfection is not of this world, it still radiates every shot of this Ultra HD Blu-ray. And it's so much better because the beautiful photograph concocted by Roger Deakins deserves to be contemplated in all his magnificence.
The definition that does not suffer from any drop in diet delivers images with phenomenal precision, the details are even more frank than in HD thanks to a veil of extra sharpness (the facial hairiness of Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, sand grains, runoff of rainwater, snow cover) and depth of field also makes a leap forward.
The sublime colorimetric palette expresses itself with more subtleness (the greys of the polluted Los Angeles, the yellows of Wallace Corporation HQ, the oranges of the prohibited zone), the contrasts continually impress, the light sources are more radiant (urban advertisements and other holograms, neons) and the dark scenes, thanks to new shades of blacks, breathe better. A first-rate visual slap!
SON - Suspicious Mind
Whether you opt for the VO (Dolby Atmos) or the VF (DTS-HD MA 5.1), it is two soundtracks of anthology. Of course, the first one benefits from a better rear opening (addition of the back surrounds) and from a vertical scene far from being annodine (torrential rain, snow, wind, city atmospheres, the flight of Spinners, etc.), but the second one is also good on the other components of this masterful mix with a clean style.
We therefore have clear voices, a dynamic with unequivocal power, a distribution of the optimal effects (the buzzing of bees, the trajectory of flying machines), an electro-experimental score with deaf sounds and gliding flights (Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch managed to respect the spirit of the original score of Vangelis) particularly large, and overpowering bass that regularly test the LFE channel. An auditory treat every moment!
CONCLUSION - Time to live...
While it is obvious that she will not be lost in forgetting like tears in the rain, this sensory and enchanting suite worthy of her illustrious predecessor (of which she is the extension) has even more humanity in the skin on 4K Ultra HD support (a/V of dream)!
Word game validated as a title! ^^ This is my favorite modern SF movie. And Villeneuve's best SF film for me, surprisingly the most "indeed" and despite a name so marked by Scott's legend.
