MaG is a bit of a meeting of video game and cinema, the naughty little duck who would finally join the seventh art. Long left for poor parent of artistic productions, the video game today raised to the rank of first cultural industry, did not fall far from the reel. When they are not singing each other, cinema and video game have an original, if not complementary, relationship.
According to this once defended alchemy, a small team of enthusiasts seeks to fire all wood against stereotypes, cultivating a flawless love of the two Arts, from the nanar to the blockbuster through the indie box. Our valuable company is divided into two sections: Movie and Game (MaG), with the slogan of the freedom of tone of each of its contributors. On the menu: technical tests of physical editions (Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD) and SVOD platforms scrutinized by our diamond artists of image and sound, cinema and video game reviews, podcasts, interviews and festival covers available on our Youtube channel. Do not hesitate to contact us to join us or exchange with us!

Arthur Cossin (KillerS7ven) - JV and film journalist: travelling festivalist
KillerS7ven or K7 for intimates, my first videoludic months started at the age of 7. Bathed in saga hemoglobin Resident Evil and Dino CrisisI've never stopped playing. A fervent Nintendo player but not a penny for a penny, I also smote the seas on Playstation like Xbox before failing on PC. Happy owner of a RTX 4070, I can now enjoy Lara's TressFX in all its splendor.
It's a long way from the time of the Game Boy Color where it lit under the halogen to play Zelda and Pokémon. I now cultivate unmasked love for indecisive games (Inside, The Swapper), arcade games at Japanese school (Furi, Treasure type games Bangai-O), the demanding 2D platform as 3D as well as fast-FPS acidified as the last Doom. The game that went back the most on summer nights: Alien Isolation. My narrative slap: the saga The Last of Us.
The chainsaw and the double shotgun are my allies ingame. I like to play fast and well. Revive by friends on Warzone and Hunt). And why KillerS7ven in all this then? Some murmur that this is an asserted tribute to the game of Suda51, where one controls a schizophrenic hit man to the seven personalities. Others claim that it is the film Seven Finder on a psychopath working on the theme of the 7 capital sins. The 7 colors of the rainbow, the 7 heavens of Islam or the 7 voices of Manuel Valls in Barcelona? God knows!

Benoist Noel (BennJ) - Vidéaste JV and video editor
It all started at 10 years with the purchase of an NES and its cartridge containing Duck Hunt / Super Mario Bros. What a joy to see this little man and his red bikini explode the bricks and joyfully jump the smile to the lips to trample the Goombas. That Mario, he knew how to have fun at the time!
A few years later my tastes have of course evolved, my Mario now has an M16 and bursts by flying an assault tank in Battlefield. What do you mean, the Bowser across the street put a bullet between the two eyes? It must be a « Cheater » Hey! And no Arthur... I'm not coming into your helicopter to throw C4 on the guys across the street.
Outside the video world, I am also an amateur of mangas and animes with a Proust madeleine named Dragon Ball. Though I read or watch other works, I always return to this one. And how could I not quote South Park Who made Eric Cartman discover this soft character? He who is so open-minded, always there for his neighbor, and constantly has the little word that will reassure his friends! I'm F-A-N. Fuck you and I'll go home. I don't know.

Brice Bouteau (the celete wolf) - 4K Ultra HD journalist · Blu-ray · SVOD
Did you know that? Wolves upset because born fish, the TV caught my parents from maternity. I can't decide between cowboys or Chinese sword movies, although the specialists of the wu xia pian claim that it's the western of China, I was forced, but not really forced, to become good public and stuff me. Wild by nature, I don't go to the movies much. So he invited himself to my den. With technological advances, from VHS to 4K Ultra HD and LaserDisc, my nights consist of drawing discs to get them into the plate. Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. You know what? #WeLovePhysicalMedia 📀✨

Dylan Durand (Neomantis) - Asian-oriented JV review
Thanks to parchments recovered by Lara Croft, we know that he was born the same year as Tekkenin a family that knows the existence of the 36th bedroom. It is therefore quite natural that the Liquid Sword was bequeathed to him, that he was taught the precepts of the Little Dragon, and that he met Rikimaru and Ryu Hayabusa, at the turn of an alley magnified by Wong Kar-wai. One day his mother invited him aboard the San Ku Kai and, traveling from planets to planets, crossed the road to Yamcha. The latter offered him the opportunity to use the room of Spirit and Time with the manchot warrior, Jimmy.
Unfortunately, parchments don't learn anything more... On the other hand, according to recent data collected by Snake, the scribe ninja escaped from Shang Tsung Island and now lives on film infusions. It is possible to see it on Falkor's back, traveling through imaginary worlds in search of catharsis or inspiration. He is said to be constantly guided by the martial values inherited from his youth in Jiang Hu.
Hadrien Chalard (Strix) - Film review
Initiated at a very young age, I grew up with my eyes in front of the works of Hitchcock, Chaplin, Cecil B. DeMille, or Cocteau. I will never forget my first cinemaphilic chills in front of the shower scene of Psychosis, the tank race of Ben-Hur, and the roaring of the T-Rex of Jurassic ParkNeither the endless laughter of Louis de Funès' brilliant pitteries. A big fan of westerns, violent thrillers, and barred genre films, I like the work of Clint Eastwood or Park Chan-wook just as much as the fat comedy way American Pie.
Defender of the physical format forever, I collect the 4K and Blu-ray editions at an unreasonable pace, but when you love you don't count! Devouring twilight films, night literary translator and self-proclaimed specialist of Icelandic cinema, I track feature films at night and day, but especially at night, in order to draw from them the substantial mellow necessary for the survival of the hungry cinemaphile.
Kilian Junker (Mr Wilkes) - Fantasy movie review
Drinking the Stephen Kings as the apricot syrup of my native country, I first discovered the cinema through its (often bad) adaptations. I am a friend of Mrs Wilkes as well as of a persistent Stockholm syndrome, and I am gradually opening up to videoclub films and B-series peasers.
After a scientific journey, I then study biology that pushes me to hunt (pacically) the wolf during the day and wait until evening to join the Lycanthropic people of my two-balled horror films. Then the discovery of a certain David Lynch, and more particularly his unwavering masterpiece Lost HighwayGive me an uppercut that will definitely push me to haunt the dark rooms.
Today, I wander between my favorite cinemas, film festivals and the edges of Helvetic lakes much less calm than they look.
Loïc Adam (Arix) - Movie movie critic
I'd rather read the pictures than look at them. I'm trying to find the way between the edge and the margin. In reality, I am lost in a gap that allows a page to hold. This bio is to read literally and in every sense as an image. At the cinema, I try to put myself in the middle of the room so as not to feel the overflowing frame. Often I think that being as close to the image gives me the privilege of reading it before others. Actually, it's bullshit. You can't see anything, but often there's nothing to see. I accept sleepers at the session, they give me the impression that it does not exist. And I like to feel that all this is just a projection.
Nathan Champion (Itokiry) - JV Review
Hermite in becoming, for a long time the mind lost in old books, I caressed the hope of creating before becoming obvious, there is too much to read and too little time. I just scratched some honest papers on the video game, for more than fifteen years, which had been on many sites over time. When I arrived here a little by mistake, I wanted to share my feelings on a monstrous backlog, which I attack on the drop account, and sometimes on recent titles, according to the calendar.
You won't find me on any football pitch, and I've long turned my back on the franchise. Pokémonwhich was my first love. But you're likely to see me appear if you say three times Biohazard in front of a mirror at the time of the crime; if you leave in urbex in the silent hill; defend Bordeciel in front of Nilfgaard; or if you launch a debate on who Megaten or Persona deserves the most your time (spoiler: the main series).
Between two readings of Poe or Bukowski, J-RPG swallows as if it were fresh fruit; m League of Legends discover (or rediscover) PlayStation 2 (especially its horrific section); try all kinds of small independent sweets on Steam; unnecessary waste my time on Vanquish, Diablo III, Afro Samurai or DOOMI've already finished way too many times...
Ummagumma - JV Criticism and frantic player
End of the 1990s: the CD player of the Rutile Family Bell Packard by swallowing the cake of Tomb Raider 2. Dropped directly near the Great Wall of China from a helicopter, Lara Croft glides elegantly along a smooth greyish stone wall. The British archaeologist sinks into a mysterious cave below. The sound of the blades of the machine is becoming more and more distant before completely removing it. A few clumsy steps forward when suddenly roaring breaks the silence! Just the time to rotate it on itself that the young explorer finds herself nose-to-truffes with two hungry tigers. The cave reveals its true nature: it was actually a den...
This was followed by a tsunami of chicken meat along the spine of the little boy I was. This distant memory is one of the most visceral of my discovery of the medium. Any of this guy's scenes? I have hundreds in memory. Like Hannibal Lecter in his mental palace, I often travel among the reminisces of my player's journey and re-immerse myself with delight in a striking sequence.
At the request of the works and over time, the eternal wonder in the face of discovery has left its place to a certain demand, without ever that magic fades away. The video game is an integral part of my life from my early childhood and will certainly accompany me until the day when, in a last breath, I will collapse controller in front of the twentieth iteration of Resident Evil.

At the dawn of maturity, I dip a first foot in a film festival. Like a fish in the water, I found my place. I bit to the hook of the seventh art and let myself be carried away into the nets of this world that opens its hatches filled with golden chests caught in the seabed, stories of legendary sirens and pop-coloured films. Falling in love with this heritage, I travel through the abyss between the great classics of d'avantan today forgotten, the star directors lost in indifference and the actors tarnished by time, with an ever more devoring curiosity. And when I go up to the surface, my compass and sextant always move to the nearest movie theater! Today from my native lake to the foothills of the North Sea, I study the remains of an era, for a day, build my own ship, gather my crew and take off. One day, I'll be king of filmmakers! Hello to you who is lucky to read my biography! Know you won't often read articles from me, but you'll have the chance to hear my voice very regularly on the channel. YouTube. In the beginning, there was nothing then... No, we're not going back that far, but the movie started with the James Bond saga around the age of nine. That same saga that's my very first collection of movies elsewhere. In short, I have the chance to offer several content related to cinema, although I am a great Gamer, I will stay on the lands of the 7th in which I have spent years studying. You'll have a choice with the critical podcast « We're doing the movie again! », which will return to the films and series of the moment in cinema as in SVOD. In short: debates, news, criticism, quizzes, these are the elements I propose for you for I hope to allow you to see cinema in another way. Otherwise, on my free time, I dive into the world of video game with FPS or RTS of all kinds. See you soon, friend... Ciao, it was Guillaume! Articles by this author
Probably bent too close to China's wall, I began to reproduce Jackie Chan's gestures in childhood facing the screen. Today, my reflexes being closer to Pierre Richard than a Ninja of the 1980s, I am « world cinemas » in search of emotions based on taran or not. Fan of Tarkovski, Michael Mann or De Palma, I will focus here on cinema said « Eastern »Both drama and comedy and action films. So, like Jean-Claude van Damme, I can make the big gap between Apichatpong Weerasethakul (yes yes, I checked on Google) and John Woo with the greatest flexibility (and without trace of « flour » around the nose). I started my video trip at the age of 4, discovering Alex Kidd on Master System and Robocop on Amstrad GX4000. A console player in my soul, I have had unforgettable adventures with exceptional women and men such as Samus, Solid Snake, Joanna Dark, Kain and James Sunderland. Then, over the years, caught up in the fantasy of getting what I didn't have until then, I discovered the FPS PC through Gordon Freeman's and JC Denton's glasses, leading to a quasi-exclusive relationship to this support, to an infidelity on Switch by. Eclectic and yet demanding player, I seek above all to live an experience. I especially enjoyed strolling through the decors of Vvardenfell and Tallon IV, membrumming the spirit in the city of Silent Hill and helping my brother Paul in the alleys of Hells Kitchen. A fervent defender of games that are not sold, I dedicate an infinite love to the Immersive Sims, while being upset by the robotic introspection of 9S and galvanized by the quest for destruction of the Khan Maykr. Far from having the look frozen in the mirror, I was taken away by my trip to Night City, loved to be manipulated by the madness of Martha Is Dead and do tender purrons to robots in Stray. Movie lover, I was upset by the trip « Interstellar » and captivated by the discovery of the Secret of flying daggers, while pouring a tear to the First Contact an alien form. Articles by this author
Often against current trends, I am interested as much in works as in their manufacture. Whether for 7th or 10th art, storyboards, making-of or other B-Rolls are just as important as the final product. Coming to the big reptiles from the Jurassic era, the cinema is my terrarium. Cinévore, I travel through festivals to satisfy my appetite for films. True archaeologist of physical support from the VHS and DVD, I am always looking for the Grail in 4K or 3D! Passionate about seventh art for over ten years, dark rooms have become my second home. After three years of studying Cinema at the University of Strasbourg, I decided to pursue them in Brussels, where I joined INSAS in 2019. Having joined since the writing of the webzine Maze.fr within the section Cinema, my adventure in criticism does not intend to stop there. Combining writing and seventh art remains for me the most tasty mix. To digest a filmic experience and put it in words, to give envy, to point the spectators upstream or during their own digestion, makes me vibrate at the highest point. Biberonné early at the cinema, I discovered Belmondo, Delon, Ventura by my father, Bruce Lee by my mother and the American blockbusters by my brother. If I had the chance to discover on a big screen Rambo 3, Terminator 2, Jurassic Park and even Super Mario Bros (and yes!) is the discovery of the magazine Mad Movies and especially of Blade Runner in VHS that will make me fall in love with the 7th art. Drying the sports classes to go to the nearest video club, I swallowed film like other green berets at breakfast (the real ones will understand). From Citizen Kane to Bloodsport, of Heat to Suspiria, of Mortal Kombat to One hundred thousand dollars in the sun, I am curious about everything and my thirst for cinema is limitless. Today, casanier in soul, buyer (almost) compulsive 4K cakes and subscriber to streaming platforms Netflix, Premium Video or Disney+, I prefer the sweet atmosphere of the home for my intensive viewing. THE ARTISANS OF THE OMBER
Loic Bos - The artist behind the avatars
A tattoo artist, Loïc works in Alsace, his native land. Passionate about the illustration, he draws mainly his overflowing inspiration from the drawing strip, which fills his library and exhausts his bank account. Whether it's the Franco-Belgian comic book, the cartoon of the 50s or the manga, Loïc likes to combine the graphic approaches and styles of all ages. We owe him our lovely avatars that you can get burned under the skin at Tinta Tattoo A true fan who respects himself. It's better than an old Mag T-shirt, right?
Nina Hernandez - Our graphic designer.
At the very beginning when MaG was only a vague domain name, our happy founding fathers wondered about the shape of the site. In search of a graphic designer, from thread to needle – and after a watered quest – we met the elected one. Already well established in the local Strasbourg soil and at the origin of the graphic charter of the association No Limit OrchestraNina was destined to dress MaG from head to toe. We owe him the entire graphic chart of the site with brainstorming as we know how to make in Alsace: beers and flamekueches please!
Yann Garcia (Blue) - The man who whispered in the ear of WordPress
Formerly bartender anchored to the bistro of the eternal Perestroika, Sergent Garcia is now a developer. Without him, MaG would be full of bugs of all kinds. If MaG were an RPG, Yann would be the shadow man who sends Soyuz missiles from his smartphone, the Denis of computer science that blew up Jurassic Park. Always the hands in the code – the equivalent of the mechanical cambouis – Yann is our joker that we know how to pamper with big hops!
THE NOTATION SYSTEM
It is applied to technical tests (physical support and SVOD) and gradually ranges from 0 to 10. With a score of 0 it's dismaying, 5 it's medium and 10 it's excellent (chefwork for the work). The note consists of artistic, video and audio variables. Since personal appreciation is not the result of a simple algebraic sum, the whole is accompanied by a badge that reflects the final feeling of the tester. Free to each of them to affix the badge he wishes regardless of the score obtained!
