  • Pierce Brosnan is a fire spitter and suffers from claustrophobia, now you know.

Only good memories of Tomorrow never dies on Playstation in the company of my tender Brudi, both of whom fell in front of our little cathode tube in the twilight of the 90's, while we were shooting in clusters of twelve terrorists from a snowy station. If torrents of water have sank under the bridges of the video game since this blessed time, an element of game design has remained frozen, both elusive and immutable, as insensitive to modern injunctions, I named the explosive red barrel. 007 First Light Lots of it.

James! I know where you're hiding! Come here and I'll kill you. *****E!

From a purely logistical point of view, all these explosive red cans raise questions. And the answer is certainly problematic. How did they get on this tarmac? Why? While James would unfurl everything that moves with his uzis by zigzaguing on an aeoport track, no pyrotechnic effect could have removed these questions from the head. Would I have done better to push back this questioning and keep blowing up those barrels like I've always done after 25 years of video-ludic indoctrination? Why do the spies always cover up behind if they're the ones who moved them here first? A call for help, I imagine, which would also explain the beastly AI as a nail to the enemies of the game.

Only 20 € on Leboncoin, but you still have to fill it up...

Suddenly a small voice: « The barrels are one way like another to renew the player's attention ». Stronger now: « The barrels do BUM when they explode, it's BRUYING so it REVEILLES! ». A scream now: « WE HAVE BARES RED OUT BY PARESSE OKAY ?! ». Thanks for the clarification. At this stage of the test and after having already written the word six times, you might think that barrels are obsessed. I admit it, I have never been so cautious about these Rigatonis Metallic. It must be said that I was not well captivated by what he was working on the screen in 007 First Light.

Futile beauty

The game is difficult to attack on the graphic plane, especially with the path tracing activated. Definitely impressive, the activation of this technology completely transcends the image to the point of making each scene infinitely more incarnate thanks to the diffusion of light. Tapestries come to life, muscles shine, sunscreen shines, in short, you will believe!

The image is certainly a little less beautiful with the DLSS Performance in 4K, but then get me those reflections!

As for the level design, the title does rather good work and you feel that the studio is strong from the experience of the games Hitman. 007 First Light Moreover, it takes over the skeleton, for the best (building the levels) as for the worst (rigid gameplay). You don't spend your time shooting in this James Bond, and sometimes you have to infiltrate. For this, James can listen not far from a conversation by taking the most blatant position possible, either leaning to a wall two meters from the interlocutors pretending to piano on his phone, but regularly throwing amusing glances at the spied persons. At this point, you might as well pull out a newspaper with eye holes.

This search for clues is friendly, no more, and you never feel any pride in collecting this information, unlike the trilogy Hitman dans laquelle ces séquences s’intégraient de façon bien plus organique.
