Presented in preview at the 30nd Gérardmer Fantasy Film Festival, Northern totalitarian dystopia Memory of Water, fourth feature film by Finnish director Saara Saarela, does he give water to the mouth? Like the recent Vesper Chronicles, this modest European co-production adapted from the novel Water girl Emmi Itaranta, shares a post-apost-apost-aposted account of SF, is interested in the emancipation journey of a young woman and delivers an ecological message that echoes our times. Far from Hollywood pachyderm, SF young adult (Hunger Games, Divergent, etc.) begins to simmer with a European sensitivity that can quench our thirst for cinephilia!
