WORK – Road of the Dead

In an Australian desert infested with zombies, soldier Rhys, who is on a bow of redemption, turns against his evil bosses and joins forces of a group of rebel survivors to help save a girl who holds the cure for the virus.

Visually chiaded and more generous than its predecessor, this series B trash that overflows with love for the Ozploitation of the blended without complex Mad Max and Dawn of the Dead . The staging of Kiah Roache-Turner is moving, the actors have a mouth, the action is well done, the gore stale and the crazy ideas sound (the zombie robot, motor vehicles powered by the dead-living). The amateurs of the genre will appreciate!

IMAGE – The big red that stains

Much more alive than its counterpart 1080p CSD, this image UHD HDR10+ still as massively stylized is objectively not really beautiful (rudy, dirty and exaggerated in all areas) while making a strong impression of its unique nature.

The grain added in post-prod is finer and gains uniformity, the sharpness of the details is much higher (faces, costumes, makeup, weapons and other equipment) and there is no trace of occasional compression anymore.

The light sources are much more vehement (the blinding light of the day, the coloured neons of the laboratory of « Doctor »), the contrast is harder with visibly stronger blacks (not rich enough on the Blu-ray during the dark scenes) and more grinning whites, the criar colours are more balanced and are no longer free reddish, and the carnation that loses a little of its freshness fits better with the age of the signed photograph Tim Nagle.

SON – Vrooom!

With a certain aggressiveness, this multichannel soundtrack has a fulminant dynamic (the detonation of firearms), many surround effects (the approaches are regularly agitating), a burning pressure of the LFE channel (the throbbing of the engines), dialogues (or the gargouillements of zombies) always distinct, whether or not there is brothel nearby, and a dreadful score (composed by Michael Lira) significantly extended.

CONCLUSION – A capsule and it goes back?

For aficionados of blood, decomplexed action, customised cars and handcrafted armor, Wyrmwood: Revelation (The limited mediabook edition embarks on the 1st opus Blu-ray) must be « tasted » 4K Ultra HD (more appropriate A/V services). Because when one stands out from the all-coming zombiesque, no doubt the (hysterical) experience deserves to be pushed into its last cutoff (of fortune)!

Wyrmwood: Revelation

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
