WORK – Fly for the 7th sky...
Pete Mitchell, a gifted Navy student pilot, is sent to the famous Naval Air Station for intensive training. A civilian instructor, Charlotte Blackwood, wants to share his passion, his insanity for performance and his excitement about danger. Rivalising with Tom Kasanksky for the coveted Top Gun, Pete Mitchell will bow before his opponent, weakened by the mourning of a friend...
A cult film of the 80s that gave his letters of nobility to the young Tom Cruise, Top Gun remains a reference in the field of action.
Tony Scott's clipesque staging is effective, the devilish rhythm, the greying air fighting, the relationship between Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis torride and the soundtrack (remember Take My Breath Away and Highway to the Danger Zone) leading as far as possible. So yes, the script is simplistic and some elements are today too much (freaking characters, exacerbated patriotism), but the show has really not lost interest.
IMAGE – Up in the clouds
True to the source, this UHD Dolby Vision transfer (scan 4K of the original film) perfectly cleaned (parasite dust has been removed) displays a tasty film-coated image (Super 35 mm) with details never seen before (and without any accentuation of the contours).
Warmer (a summer atmosphere has taken hold of photography) with orange hues found (real sunsets), she can also rely on contrasts (more legible blacks and more authentic whites) and lights (radiation from the sky) sublimated to perfect her maneuver.
SON – Concert of reactors!
Engaged, the extraordinary VO Dolby Atmos manages without difficulty to cross the sound wall.
Immersive (a spatialisation of great generosity), dynamic and powerful all the time, it uses high channels during aerial combat, roaring the LFE channel during the spins of the reactors and aerated to the maximum the emblematic score of Harold Faltermeyer.
Even if crushed by the weight of years, the VF does its job very well.
CONCLUSION – Take orders with « Maverick »...
Cult of the cult, this must-see « clipesque » action cinema takes off to a high quality 4K Ultra HD reissue!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

Dodonpachi is therefore a test in the literal sense of the term. It is that it is a matter of proving not by finishing it, which is no problem since the title does not limit the credits but by achieving the perfect score. And for that, good luck! If the margin of progression is stupendous, the last level has no words to characterize it so much it wants us to harm. A pure arcade exercise that will ask you to move from resignation to perseverance. And past the torgnole, we surprise ourselves to nag the machine and try maneuvers and pirouettes that even Tom Cruise would not dare realize in Top Gun. [...]
