WORK – Fall!!
After the deadly events in his home, the Abbot family must face the danger of the outside world. To survive, they have to fight in silence. Forced to venture into unknown terrain, they realize that creatures that attack at least sound are not the only threat that stands on their way...
Reliving without difficulty with the tension of the first opus even if the surprise effect has passed, this suite more « Noise » with real dramaturgic evolution, very solid casting and skillful staging is rich in cold sweats and haunting action scenes. When you arrive, it's hard not to hold your breath!
IMAGE – Moving to the unknown
Neither demonstrative nor ultra-pointed, the image delivered by this neat UHD Dolby Vision transfer remains no less perfectly respectful of the post-apocalyptic survival that it highlights with the layer of dirt that goes with it (grain management is of great precision)!
Bringing a real boost to its HD counterpart, it shows an improvement in details (increased precision of faces, clothes and sometimes rusty decors), colorimetric palette (photo ochre in better health and deeper primary), contrasts (black more « claustro » and whiter) and light sources « bunker » and flames), sometimes blinding (cf. port).
SON – Control noise
Silent and/or suffocated volunteers if narration requires (especially when we follow the deaf young man) but also incredibly frantic when the action comes (especially the prologue in town), this Dolby Atmos soundtrack plunges us into a nightmare awakened at all times!
On several occasions close to a silence of death with light atmospheres and whispered voices (there are some), it depopulates at other times a feverish dynamic that activates striking effects (gunshots), a moving rear scene, powerful basses and a wide score. In addition, the height channels (the inaugural crash, the creatures that climb on the roof of cars or come from the ceiling, the « rain ») activate at regular intervals.
Even though equally stressful, the small VF encoded in single Dolby Digital is not as balanced with less spatialization and more moderate energy.
CONCLUSION – Silence's golden?
To continue to (over)live the unique horrific experience proposed by the franchise No noise, this 4K Ultra HD (A/V quality of a proven value) is the fully designated support!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
