WORK – Butchery party!
Remaining hidden for nearly 50 years, Leatherface comes back to terrorize a group of young idealistic friends who unwittingly disturb his protected universe in a small town in Texas.
Inspired by the requel ofHalloween published in 2018, Leatherface cuts the previous sequels of his saga (most of them calamitous) to better return to the sources of horror and connect to the original masterpiece signed Tobe Hooper. And if he aligns the caricatures, forgets to give body to his characters and sweetens the madness of his boogeyman (who acts here only by simple revenge), this bourrin slasher without pretension or narrative fat is a rejoicing massacre game (the gore abounds) where the conservative scumbag will put into the cart of progressive bobo (it is for the societal background). For lovers of fat red that is working, the barbaque will not lack flavor!

More licked than most of the productions of the genre (to better iconize his iconic killer), the image that is vaguely approaching the unhealthy photography of the 1974 l
The definition and the level of detail are at the height of contemporary productions, the colours (especially shades of yellow and blue) enjoy a very modern vibrance, the range of contrasts is in no way restricted, the dark (many) environments benefit from a great readability and the high lights are loosen with great ease (the sunny field, the lighting of the bus). Trip on the cake, compression does not run away from danger!
SON – Bubba Sawyer's Punishment
In line with the action on the screen, this soundtrack Dolby Atmos falsely minimalist « attack » As soon as his dangerous psychopath enters the field. Surrounding activity (like small suspicious noises) and vertical (rain, a presence above the floor) is solid, atmospheric atmospheres are in place and dynamic is not lacking authority. A little more weight at the bottom of the spectrum, however, would have raised this good acoustic recipe!
The VF Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 does not demerit.
CONCLUSION – Stretched the chainsaw chain?
Back to cut the small screen, Leatherface slice in the alive with a blade « brand new » purchased by Netflix !
