This UHD transfer much more stable, sharp and detailed (the architecture of the buildings, the sewing of the leather seats, the features of the face) that its HD counterpart (with too soft stitching), also delivers more majestic colors (they are artificially saturated on the 1080p disk) as well as reinforced contrasts, and thus leaves far behind in the less pleasant and realistic mirror image delivered by the Blu-ray.

The colorimetric palette is more natural, deep (the red benches of the Bos Diner) and richly nuanced (the car painting, the blankets in the laundromat drums), the general brightness is massively boosted with brighter reflections (the bodies are brighter) and more radiant lighting (the lighthouses, the gyrophars, the lens flare), and the night/low lit scenes take advantage of more precise blacks (despite noise in places) for a much better visibility.

Counter-current flashing imaging of Fast & Furious, this superb photograph with vintage patina (which is owed to the chef op Bill Pope) has no more insipid in 4K HDR even though it still does not (and it is so much better) intend to be demonstrative.

SOUND – Baby 🎧

An exceptional Atmos track where the proposed constant immersion gives the palpable impression of being in the skin of this ace of the steering wheel that Baby is. Feel the beat!

The musical definition is absolutely wonderful (this BO of thunder fills the room with remarkable warmth and fidelity), the atmospheres (urban traffic) and the effects (pulls) surround the scene listening with the precision of a conductor, the surrounding activity is maintained throughout, the aerial channels develop an ultra-engaging hearing bubble (the helicopters, the police sirens, the reverberation of crashes, the diegetic score, etc.), the bottom of the spectrum is incredibly powerful and the dialogues, which can move from one speaker to another, are never drowned by this perpetual sound collision.

Although less powerful and enveloping, the VF HD remains a very demonstrative and highly recommendable track.
