From The Time Exploring Machine to the cult trilogy Back to the future through the saga Terminator, the concept of time travel is an endless pool for cinema. Even the Avengers use it in Endgame !

Back to the Buddy Movie Time

Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds, the duo behind Free Guy decides to get to the spot by shaping a kind of science-fictional buddy movie or two versions of the same person are willingly teaming up under cover of a future at risk.

From the director of the trilogy Night at the Museum, it is not to be expected that such a chamboulement will occur. No, here, we are rather faced with calibrated entertainment for the whole family. Nothing shameful about it, the story follows with pleasure, the staging is neat, the special effects convincing with spectacular action scenes as it should, without being either stunning.

The Ryan Comedy Show

Presence of Ryan Reynolds obliges, humor is also present. A good humour, far from the drifts « crashes » of Deadpool (let's not forget that we're in front of a family movie) but it's the most common one, especially the interactions between the two Adams, the youngest being played by a convincing Walker Scobell who holds the high dragee to the interpreter of the petaradant 6 Underground.

Even if we would have liked to see him in a more nuanced register as he proved more than once (Smoken Aces, Buried, The Voices), Reynolds is doing the steaming tab on the screen while Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner and Zoe Saldana unfortunately struggle to exist in front of this duo which is not really one since it is one and the same person but in two different temporalities (you follow me?) !

« I've spent the last 30 years trying to escape the kid I was. But I have something to tell you. It hurts to say that, but in the end you were the best in me. »

Looking for a movie that will delight your whole family on a Saturday night (or rather Friday, day of release of the films) Netflix) ? Adam through time is for you and no doubt you will have a good time. However, if you are looking for a more original proposal on the topic of time travel, I can only advise you Looper by Rian Johnson with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.

Biberned very early at the cinema, I swallowed film like others green berets at breakfast! Curious of everything and today casanier in the soul, it is in the sweet atmosphere of the home that I quench my thirst without limit of 7th art.
