WORK – Facing Your Future!
In the near future, the mafia has developed an infallible system to remove all the annoying witnesses. She sends her victims in the past, in our time, where killers of a new kind, « loopers » eliminate them. One day, one of them, Joe, discovers that the victim he is to execute is none other than himself, with another 20 years. The machine so well oiled derail...
If he doesn't invent anything and picks it up in the classics of the genre, Looper Nevertheless, a bold, surprising thriller of anticipation (the end is dizzying) and terribly effective whose retro-futuristic charm of the universe depicts, the crazy class of staging, the mastery of the narrative (which is not obvious when it comes to temporal paradox), the constancy of suspense, the viscerality of the action scenes and the quality of the performance are to be marked by a white stone. An underrated SF gem to be missed under no circumstances!

If this is a diphemer compressive drop which causes a few times a slight sparkling of the 35 mm silver grain, perfectly solved otherwise, this UHD HDR10+ transfer which has a proudly transcribed look « proper » the particular look of the work.
Full of details, the image displays with greater accuracy than in 1080p. Backgrounds thus gain sharpness and textures in finesse. This is true in low light, thanks to more delicate contrasts that prevent blacks from absorbing information from the wide frame, as in the daylight, where the high lights are better trimmed.
As for the delicious and slightly desaturated colorimetric palette, it takes advantage of the wide color gamut technology to accentuate the vibrance of its primers and the shade of all its shades.
SON – Close your loop!
A dynamic and immersive soundtrack to the wide acoustic scene, with clear voices, richly animated atmospheres (citadines and rural) at the back, with striking effects (gunshots), muscular bass and a bold enveloping score.
And if the (very good) spatialisation already immerses us at the heart of this race against the clock, no doubt that a 3D remix would have propelled us into the heights!
CONCLUSION – A waste of time?
In order to break the cycle, arm yourself with this Ultra HD Blu-ray that does justice to this real little nugget that is not well recognized!
