WORK – End of game for heroes
Thanos, after gathering the six stones of Infinity, imposed his will on all humanity and randomly exterminated half of the world's population, including many superheroes. In the aftermath of the defeat, the remaining Avengers faced the greatest of all their trials: finding in themselves the strength to rise and discovering the way to defeat Thanos once and for all.
Less spectacular and more intimate, this emotional conclusion to the saga of infinity, where the survivors make their introspection and struggle to advance after the consequences of the finger slamming of the Almighty Thanos, is a final bouquet « synthesis » (a sort of rereading of his own universe) showing a heart and soul in the middle of the (heavy) specification of the MCU. And if it has flaws (shortcuts and other screenplay facilities), the show is there all along... from the homiric battles to tragic destinies.
IMAGE – With a slam of perfection fingers
Digitally captured before being digitized in 2K (i.e., there is a lot of CGI), the homogenous images of this UHD HDR10 transfer show a small improvement in sharpness (the background) and an additional point of finesse of the details (face features, costume texture, ravages suffered by the decors) in comparison with the superb Blu-ray. It is therefore in no way a rediscovery even if there is best thanks to the increased resolution (and certainly also to the best compression).
Still, the increased depth of the colors (the shades are richer) and blacks (the contrasts are stronger), coupled with the quite different intensity of the light sources (the majesty of the stars, the lightnings of Thor, the light of day, the bubbling of the magical portals and the passing of the light), make a real difference with the HD edition.
SOUND – 10 years of explosions
Once it is not customary at Disney, it is not necessary to really push the volume (only 3dB) to taste this excellent Atmos mix.
Provided with a new dynamic (!) even though other blockbusters go further in this area, it also engages in the bottom of the spectrum with heavy bass (but not thundering either) and far from being shy (!!). What's going on?
The environments are swarming with effects (especially on the battlefield) and natural atmospheres on all the enclosures, well assisted by aerial channels that ardently support the action (flying heroes, interstellar ships), dialogues are carried out with transparency and the dramatic-epic score is really not lacking.
More blurred in all areas (especially with regard to the most confused rear scene) and suffering from a dubbing often poorly integrated into space, the VF is (very) far from equalizing the VO... especially as it requires an increase in the level of listening of at least 7 dB.
CONCLUSION – Past, Present and Future
After the defeat, this highly contested second round that marks the end of a cycle is to follow in 4K Ultra HD for « enjoy » Apotheosis!

Typical of the kind of movies I'd like to see again on my video projector. Even if I prefer the previous one, I had a nice time at the movies. Did you ever test Spiderman into the spiderverse by the way?
