WORK – My neighbor the serial killer

Summer 1984. Several teenagers disappear in a small city in the United States. The young Davey Armstrong is convinced that it is the work of a serial killer and begins to suspect his own neighbour, police officer in charge of the investigation. With the help of his three inseparable friends, he decides to investigate to shed light on these disappearances. But this quest for truth will prove extremely dangerous...

Exercise of nostalgia without pretension that plunges us back into the 1980s, this Window on courtyard Amblin sauce (The Goonies in mind) cultivates the aura of mystery all the long before hardening the tone in its last straight line (which will surprise more than one). The intrigue is well tied, effective suspense and young friendly heroes like everything. A very pleasant summer thriller where the killer is so close!

IMAGE – Neighbourhood under high surveillance

Nothing better than a fantastic UHD HDR10 transfer to visit this pavilion suburb where the feeling of insecurity prevails, especially when the light grain added in post-prod is perfectly solved and the details display with greater finesse (the increased precision of the contours of the faces, the increased sharpness of the furniture).

The colorimetric palette, already rutilating on the Blu-ray, is richer (the carnation is more natural) with more living primaries (the greenery is striking), and the adjustment of contrasts (the blacks are ink and the purer whites) allows the night adventures of our Club of Five be more perceptible. The light sources, from the sun to the flashlights to the interior lighting, are particularly bright. In short, a nice upgrade.

SON – Activate the walkies!

Rhythming by an excellent retrowave score to heavy bass, this immersive soundtrack with sliced effects (the activation of the water heater in the basement) and attractive atmospheres (the out and out of the neighborhood, the atmosphere of the wooded island) is supported in its investigation by a dynamic to the woody and dialogues without difficulty.

CONCLUSION – Are we playing manhunt?

If life seems to take place peacefully in the suburbs, how do you know what can happen around the corner? Because behind the lawns well mowed and the signs of the friendly hand, we can experience completely incredible things! The proof here itself, in this avenue decorated with all the 80s handrail where the sweet perfume of paranoia, accentuated in 4K Ultra HD, blends with the apparent tranquility of the places.

Summer of 84

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

Interestingly, it was a common practice in the United States until the 1990s to put photos of missing children on milk cartons:
