After the land of the Sun-River, this second animated compilation extends its horizons with productions by major studios from all over the world (El Guiri, Cartoons Saloon, Punkrobot, Aardman, Mir, La Cachette, 88 Pictures, D的ART Shtajio and Triggerfish).
More heteroclite inspiration and navigating at speed of light between genres (heumoristic I Am Your Mother), this anthology Star Wars more ambitious is a technical showcase with varied animation (2D, 3D, stop motion and more) where the stories are deeper than in the past (Journey to the Dark Head), the more marked aesthetic (the episodes Sith, Screechers Reach, The Spy Dancer and Waters Song) and even more diverse original characters (the sisters of In the Stars). Undoubtedly, under the auspices of Disney, Visions the most interesting proposal of the franchise created by George Lucas.
IMAGE – A galaxy full of colors
Drawn from a DI 4K, this UHD Dolby Vision transfer that flatters the retina displays a definition to the tablet, very pronounced details (even if more or less sharp depending on the graphic style), a wonderfully vibrant colorimetric palette (see the bucolic universe of the last episode), contrasts of remarkable rigor (the depth of the blacks in the cave of the second segment impresses) and light sources certainly brilliant (the intensity of the laser swords, the projector above the cabaret scene, the energy that emerges from Kyber crystals).
SON – Light Side, Dark Side or both?
The richness of sound design Star Wars Is there with the laser sabres that clash, the blaster shots that whistle and the rumbling reactors.
The front scene is precise, the constant use of the rear tracks does not disappoint, the directivity of the effects is controlled and the different musical scores are perfectly distilled on all speakers without ever harming the atmosphere.
But because of a retreating dynamic and lazy bass, a near-constance with the studio with large ears, this soundtrack never really comes out heavy artillery.
CONCLUSION – The originality is his Force!
Both artistic and narrative, it is in his difference that this season 2 perspiring love of the saga offers his « visions » of the rich universe of The Star Wars, to be discovered in the best possible conditions (of the 4K HDR which puts full of mirettes) on Disney+ !
