WORK – Star Wars in the land of the Sun-River
An anthology that sees 7 Japanese animation studios revisit the famous saga through 9 original and unpublished short films.
Taking a new and innovative look at the universe Star Wars, this animated compilation composed of episodes of different studios (Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio, Studio Colorido, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru and Production I.G.) is exciting.
Stubbed in action and moving away from the canons of the franchise, she gave free rein to experimentation (in narration as in graphics) and the vision of her authors. All different and autonomous, these short stories of variable quality, forgotten (T0-B1, Akakiri) to great (The Duel under Kurosawian influence, The Ninth Jedi, Lop & Ocho and especially the melancholic The Bride of the Village), we transport to a distant galaxy, far away.
And it is because she fully assumes her choices, starting with a unique Japanese sensitivity, that this new interpretation of The Star Wars Must be celebrated!

Show high in colour (even The Duel with a monochrome trend) with a varied graphic style (including cartoonesque) but never photorealistic, Star Wars: Visions is beautiful to watch in UHD Dolby Vision.
Taken from a DI 4K, these images abound in detail and textures (more or less sharp depending on the animation chosen) and employ contrasts of great richness, often impress in the use of its luminous radiances (cf. the intense intensity of the laser swords) and the vibrance of its colorimetric palette.

SON – Kare No melting-pot
Marking in the use of its Star-Warsian score (recognizable among all) coupled with traditional Japanese music with ethereal choirs (couchou Ghost in the Shell), the soundtrack of this anthology does not lack identity.
The effects/ambiences specific to the saga are on the side and go from one speaker to another, the score benefits from a great amplitude and the dubbings are all of quality (from the Japanese version to the French version to the English version and its guests – Allison Brie, Kyle Chandler, Joseph Gordon-Levitt -). Nevertheless, voices are sometimes undermixed (not often fortunately) and Disney production requires, bass far too shy.
CONCLUSION – The Japanese Animation Force
Disturbing with respect the universe created by George Lucas, this moment-long show (supplied in Dolby Vision) with rejoicing creativity is to be discovered without further delay on Disney+. No bad feeling to have, you are body with the Force and the Force is with you!

Disney +, Star wars and original content, would there be a flaw in the matrix? For once I have to salute the approach, it's original and it makes you want.
