WORK – Small teeth of the stream
A new kind of piranhas created by the army, capable of living in fresh water and salt water, is accidentally released into a river during the summer. The carnage begins...
Acerbic criticism of capitalism and politics (the trauma of Vietnam's war prevails there), this pastiche of Teeth of the sea is a disgent bisserie in a disinclined mood where the second degree is barboting alongside fun attacks. However, even if still voracious, the peas took a hell of an old man's shot!
IMAGE – Red River
While it presents some chrominance artifacts, especially during optical effects where the grain intensifies, this UHD Dolby Vision transfer from a brand new 4K restoration (dated 2022) comes « tease » the previous Blu-ray released by Carlotta Films in 2013.
The 35 mm silver texture is much less coarse, the details are otherwise clearer (clothes, skin, environments), the colorimetric palette benefits from an additional depth (the greens of nature) with brighter primaries (blue sky, yellow t-shirts, red blood) and an assanity carnation, the contrasts are much firmer (more stable blacks and more marked whites) and the light sources, which never betray the photograph a little bit « Killed » are more attractive (see camping lantern).
SON – Clac! Clash! Clash!
Powered by the strident score of Pino Donaggio, the screams of the victims, the anguishing sound of the Piranhas (like a drowned whistle) and the splashes of water, this monophonic soundtrack encoded in DTS-HD MA 2.0, pleasantly balanced and with good clarity (dialogues, effects, atmospheres), is certainly dated (the relief, dynamics and basses have been eaten) but shows a little spatial lucidity at the front.
CONCLUSION – Sea, Sex and... Blood
More ferocious than sharks, the fry Piranhas offers a good quality buffet (the A/V features show teeth) in 4K Ultra HD!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
