While Year of sharkShark Bay, The Reef: Stalked and The Shark have reached our shores in the summer of 2022 that beat heat records, back on some shark movies to watch before going for a walk to the beach. Will you dare to swim in deep waters?

47 Meters Down

47 Meters Down

A shark observation expedition turns into a nightmare. Two sisters find themselves trapped at the bottom of the ocean in an observation cage. When the cable of the cage breaks, the lack of oxygen is watching them, as well as large white sharks, attracted by blood...

Between claustrophobia and squalophobia, it is to our deepest fears that this horrific drama attacks. Angrous and not devoid of screenshot surprises (despite a very classic pattern), this shake movie seriously with heavy atmosphere and attacks of icy sharks makes a sensation. This animal survivor is what has happened best since The Teeth of the Sea ! 🦈🦈🦈🦈

47 Meters Down: Uncaged

47 Meters Down: Uncaged

A group of girls decided to go swimming near underwater ruins off the Brazilian coast. They will soon realize that they are not alone under the water...

Very entertaining in the absence of credibility, this horrific-disastrophe B series, which preserves the (marking) appearances of its sharks, is a survival of the ubiquitous tension and the (surprises) burgeoning attacks. 🦈🦈🦈

Bait

Bait

While a Tsunami has just struck a seaside town, a group of individuals find themselves trapped in a flooded supermarket, also becoming the refuge and hunting ground of the most dangerous predators...

This horrific lock-up is a luxury B series that avoids the clichés and the predictability of a simplistic scenario, but the judicious exploitation of the unity of place, the unexpected development of trapped individuals, the brutal attacks and shark gores (which are really cold in the back) as well as the often solid SFX (the animatronics are impressive while some CGI are too visible as the dreadful final plane) that give them life, make it a fun and frightening shrak movie with the horrific quota more than respected. 🦈🦈🦈

Dark Tide

Dark Tide

After the death of her mentor, killed by a shark, Kate became a tourist guide in South Africa. Panic about returning to the water, she gave up her passion. But the return of her ex-husband upsets her life and obliges her to face her demons for a last dive in the middle of sharks. The experience will turn into a nightmare...

From a cinematic point of view there is much to say about Dark Tide as the fact that the actors are insignificant (Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez had to be more roocouler during the shooting than think to interpret characters), that the script is not of great interest, that the characters have far from logical reactions (the too violent evolution of Kate Mathiesen) and that the sensations in deep waters are absent, but this film carries an authentic look at the sharks without demonizing them (finally!) and spends its time observing real ones (very few tricks here) during fascinating underwater scenes. Out of the water the drama therefore matters little (a sweet euphemism), but under water adventure finally takes all its meaning. 🦈🦈

In troubled waters (The Meg)

In troubled waters

Missioned by an international program to observe underwater life, a submersible is attacked by a gigantic creature thought to have disappeared. Seriously damaged, he now lies in a pit, deep in the Pacific Ocean, where his crew is trapped. There's no more time to lose: Jonas Taylor, an expert seafloor diver, is hired by a particularly visionary Chinese oceanographer...

Jason Statham vs. Megalodon, it's kind of the program. « harpooning » of this blockbuster all public. And if he avoids any bloodbathing (the peeling machine does not eat much in the end), he perfectly ensures entertainment with his muscular sequences and impressive special effects. Bite the hook! 🦈🦈🦈

Ghost Shark

Ghost Shark

A small town is confronted with the threat of a ghost shark at sea as on land: the slightest puddle of water allows it to attack its victims...

After the octopus sharks, the sand sharks, the two-headed sharks and recently the snow sharks, here's SyFy us « offer » the ghost shark (!) in this very stupid nanar, where the exchanges without any interest between the protagonists (played by actors with limited talent) are fortunately interspersed with bloody and fun attack scenes in which the shark, badly inlaid on the screen, is able to appear in a pool, a bathtub, pipes, water jets and even in a stomach (!!!). It's deeply stupid and objectively very bad, but fans of nanars should still find it nice. 🦈

Survival Instinct (The Shallows)

Survival instinct

Nancy surfs alone on an isolated beach when she is attacked by a large white shark. She takes refuge on a rock, out of reach of the squale. It has less than 200 meters to swim to be saved, but returning to the mainland will be the most deadly fight...

This summer B series worn by a sexy Blake Lively is an animal survival with a clever script and implacable suspense, whose appearances of the terrifying predator provide sudden rise of stress. An intense shake movie that takes the guts. 🦈🦈🦈🦈

The World of Nemo

The World of Nemo

In the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef, a clown fish named Marin leads a peaceful existence with his only son, Nemo. Overwhelming the ocean and its unpredictable risks, he does his best to protect his son. Like all the small fish of his age, however, he dreams of exploring the mysterious reefs...

Along with sea creatures with a well soaked personality, dive into a beautiful ocean to experience a funny adventure « excavating » where satire and emotion do not dream of getting away from the shore! 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈

Teeth of the Sea (Jaws)

The Teeth of the Sea

A few days from the beginning of the summer season, the inhabitants of the small seaside resort of Amity are beset by the discovery on the coast of the atrociously mutilated body of a young steamer. For Martin Brody, the chief of police, there is no doubt that the girl was the victim of a shark. He then decided to ban access to the beaches but met the hostility of the mayor only interested in the influx of tourists. Meanwhile, the shark continues to sow terror along the coast and devour swimmers...

Born of a catastrophic production process, The Teeth of the Sea Yet managed to impose itself as a classic of American cinema where are alongside amazing actors, mythical replicas, anxiogenic atmosphere, cult sequences (intro all in suggestion) and iconic music by John Williams. At the source of our aquatic terrors, this founding work of a genre has not finished terrorizing bathers. 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈

Teeth of the Sea 3

Teeth of the Sea 3

Michael Brody and Sean Brody, the two sons of police chief Martin Brody of the pleasure town of Amytiville, grew up well. After their father faced twice the terror of the seas, the Great White Shark, a man-eating animal more than seven metres long, they settled in Florida where they worked for a famous water park engulfed in the sea, led by Calvin Bouchard. Shortly after the park was opened, the team recovered a baby shark from the seabed, which died on the tables of the park's scientific laboratory. The shark's mother wants her kid back, and she knows he's somewhere in the park. So she decides to attack and destroy the Sea World...

More attraction of leisure parks than cinematic work, this 3rd opus with the attractive idea of starting quickly takes water and has a hard time not sinking. From his static staging to his casting at the discount, to his little voracious giant shark and soft attacks, Teeth of the Sea 3 is worth his ticket only for the stereoscopic show (the film was captured in Arrivision 3D) generously demonstrative that he offers. Needless to say, in its flat version (with the tricks all the more blazing), this episode can only sink. 🦈🦈

« A shark! A shark! There's a shark in the estuary! »

Open Water

Open Water

Susan and Daniel came to the Bahamas to relax, and they really need it. Adhesive of diving, they sign up for an exit on the coral barrier. Because the boat is too full, because the crew is not really careful, they find themselves alone, lost off, in waters infested with sharks...

From a true history, this water-enclosed enclosure serves as a white terror where imagination is tested as soon as the deep waters, refuges of the invisible, sancing. Far from the (easy) fireworks of contemporary horror, the icy terror pricks a head! 🦈🦈🦈🦈

Blue Fear (Deep Blue Sea)

Blue fear

Dr. Susan McAlester is convinced that he can remedy the degeneration of the human brain with shark proteins. She works with a team of biologists at the Aquatica Research Centre, a vast offshore complex, where they engage in both secret and dangerous experiments. Thus, Dr. Susan McAlester did not hesitate to recombine the DNA of two large sharks in disregard of medical ethics and the most elementary caution. Susan and her partners make it terrifying killing machines...

With a lot of action, a bit of horror, an ounce of suspense and a pinch of humor, Blue fear is a fun, uncomplicated survival that confronts her unlucky characters with a trio of hungry sharks. The scenario is quite original, sharks are terrifying (despite a few numerical effects a little limited), the rhythm is tense, the action scenes fill the sight and the protagonists, even if they lack depth, are sympathetic and interpreted by talented actors. A good tour in the Russian mountain! 🦈🦈🦈🦈

Blue Fear 2

Blue Fear 2

When Misty Calhoun, a shark conservation expert, is invited to consult a top secret project of the pharmaceutical billionaire Carl Durant, she is shocked to learn that the company uses unpredictable and very aggressive bull sharks as test subjects, which are quickly unleashed and cause ravages...

This late suite out of the abyss is a series B (or Z per place) that surfs on the fashion of the debilitating-horrific shake movie. Moreover, more reboot than following the underestimated first opus, this new misadventure in the depths of the ocean which takes over the structure of the plot (despite a small novelty of « Size ») and some emblematic scenes of her big sister, suffers from characters clichés performed by unbelievably credible actors, boat situations never scary and in a ridiculously serious tone. Surprisingly, it is thanks to its unguishing SFX and its graphic dead that this very small production avoids the complete sinking. 🦈🦈

Blue Fear 3

Emma Collins, a prominent marine biologist, and her crew set up a laboratory in the middle of the ocean, over an insular city that was swallowed up, to observe the mating of large white sharks. Unfortunately, improved bull sharks are also there with their own goal of evolution: to meet with the larger, larger and faster white sharks in order to generate a new breed of sharks...

Reconquered, the saga Blue fear breathe with this 3rd opus where extras serve as squale flesh in often playful sequences where the shark-porn is as bourrin as well as generous in a barbaque. Budget reduced but fun bis guaranteed! 🦈🦈🦈

Shark 3D

Shark 3D

In the summer sun, Sara and her friends are determined to spend a weekend of pure fun on a small private island of an immense salt lake in Louisiana. However, when Malik, the young star footballer, comes out of an unconscious water skiing session with one less arm, the atmosphere is no longer at the party. Convinced that this is an accident, the small band embarks on a speedboat to drive the injured to the hospital as a matter of urgency, but young people will soon notice that the lake is infested with ultra aggressive sharks...

This luxurious B series is intended for a fairly large audience (neither gore nor tits inverse of Piranha 3D) is an effective entertainment with simplistic but surprising scenario (the origin of the presence of marine predators) that avoids the second degree to play it slash with sharks... And it works pretty well because the attacks (realistic or not at all) are as numerous as spectacular and stage a different shark each time (hammer shark, ferocious squallet, white shark, mako shark, bull shark and bull shark). Not really unforgettable or even scary but distracting enough for the fans of squales. 🦈🦈🦈

Sharknado

Sharknado

A hurricane simmers in Los Angeles. Thousands of sharks attack the city and terrorize the population. Fin, a surfer who also owns a bar, accompanied by his friends Baz and Nova, goes on an adventure to save his ex-wife April and their daughter Claudia...

Preceded by a huge buzz, this production The Asylum with a concept as stupid as improbable based on oversized tornadoes filled with hungry sharks holds surprisingly well its promises, and simmers like a terriblely fun Cartoon nanar where the WTF scenes (the sharks that swim between cars, the hero who beats the squales with a revolver while they are in the air, a character who cuts in half a shark with a chainsaw, the rescue of the children on the bus, the shark-mart that crushes a passerby, the final with the helicopter) never devoid of blood, the enthusiastic actors, the questionable special effects and the false rigolos (the level of the water is never the same, the sky passes from one plane to the other from clear to covered, the cars circulate in the background as if nothing were ever) will fill the slicks and/or the curious. A real guilty pleasure! 🦈🌪️

Sharknado 2

Sharknado 2

The shark invasion continues and strikes New York after a climate change...

This sequence of the cultissime nanar cartoonesque Sharknado goes even further than his predecessor and sitters like a fireworks jubilatory with assumed bad taste. The concept as stupid as improbable based on disproportionate tornadoes filled with hungry sharks is moving to a higher speed, the WTF scenes push the limits of reasonableness (the hero riding a shark in the middle of a tornado!!!), the winks of eye are fun (the scene intro way Is there a pilot on the plane? or Tara Raid who thinks he is Ash de Evil Dead 3), the more or less digital special effects are very doubtful, the false connections as well as the innumerable inconsistencies are funny, the replicas are ridiculously funny, the actors are never credible and the cameos (Robert Hays in line pilot, Kelly Osbourne in air hostess, Judah Friedlander as a Mets fan, Richard Kind as a fallen star of baseball, Kurt Angle as a firefighter and j When absurdity and nullity fry genius! 🦈🌪️

Sharknado 3

After wreaking havoc in Los Angeles and then New York, the third shark tornado returns to the capital of the United States, just as Fin went to the White House. After destroying Washington D.C., the Sharknado will destroy everything on its way to the coasts of Florida, where April, 9-month pregnant waits impatiently. As he joined his family as soon as possible, hundreds of shark tornadoes appeared to form only a giant tornado, which threatened to destroy the entire East coast. Fin realizes that he will have to find a solution, which may not be on Earth...

Even more tornadoes, sharks, gore, fun, SFX, cameros and WTF scenes for this completely barred opus that never takes itself seriously. 🦈🌪️

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens

The killer shark storm is back and the squale target is now Las Vegas. After ravaging the city as a windstorm liberates them from a amusement park, the 的Sharknados moves and strikes several states in the central United States without a maritime facade through a series of continental tornadoes. By moving and striking various installations (hoover dam, oil field, electric transformer, nuclear power plant), the tornado changes nature by taking on increasingly dangerous materials: dust, stones, oil, fire, high voltage electricity, and even radioactivity. The whole Shepard family, finally reunited, will have to join forces to overcome it...

References to gogo (Christine, Magic Mike, Twister, Iron Man, Star Wars And I'm passing by, do you want some of them? « Dog » Chapman, Gena Lee Nolin, etc.), tornadoes over and over again (sand, fire, electricity, etc.), messy SFXs and scenes all more portnawakes one than the other for this absurd and fendard nanar. And for the followers of « Teeth of love », know that the saga continued with Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017) and Sharknado 6: Its About Time (2018). 🦈🌪️

USS Indianapolis

USS Indianapolis

The true story of the crew of the USS Indianapolis, who failed at the Philippine Sea for five days after delivering nuclear weapons intended to end World War II. As they were waiting for help, they were thirsty, hungry and relentless shark attacks...

The tragedy of the USS Indianapolis, probably the greatest naval catastrophe in history, deserved better than this tight-budgeted war drama where lamentable CGIs are taking water to a very interesting intrigue. 🦈

« Nobody knows the longevity of sharks. They live two thousand, three thousand years, we don't know, it's the total black... »

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
