WORK – Dance with the Devil
Perdita works with Romeo, a robber and sorcerer, to kidnap two teenagers and transport a load of embryos between Mexico and Las vegas.
Latinan murderous horse where people meet with pronounced madness, a ravaging glaucous humour, a sustained cruelty and haletating adventures, this « Further » of the Sailor and Lula (This is the adaptation of Barry Gifford's crazy work) which carries tenderness for his two predators (to the incendiary charism) smashing everything in his way!
IMAGE – From Desert Moisturizer to Las Vegas Neon
Restored in 4K from the original negative, the image of this UHD HDR10 transfer is magnificent to a few knuckles (a vertical line at the beginning of the program and white points from there).
Captured in 35 mm, it has a beautiful overall clarity with finer details than in HD and a much better channeled light grain. The more extensive colours improve the saturation of reds and yellows (see the opening sequence), the contrasts with increased density leave us to see deeper blacks (they are ink) and whites released, and the light sources are distinguished from SDR encoding by a truly remarkable shine during scenes nestled with sun or taking place in urban areas with multiple (colored) lighting.
SOUND – Blood and sex
If the pyrotechnic effects (gunshots and explosions) are terribly lacking in body, the VO DTS-HD MA 5.1 uses a coherent surround activity (environmental atmospheres), delivers dialogues of excellent clarity and gives a lot of life to the musical score.
Even if frontal by its stereo nature, the DTS-HD MA 2.0 VF (with quality dubbing) is wider and less than its conœur.
CONCLUSION – It's Santeria time!
Delusional and violent road-movie between Mexico and the United States, the cult Perdita Durango is even more out of control in 4K Ultra HD!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
