WORK – Mind blurred but consciousness clear

When Alex, a professional murderer, refuses to finish a job for a dangerous criminal organization, he becomes a target. And while agents of the FBI and Mexican intelligence services are having to investigate him, he will try to keep a head start despite the serious memory loss that affects each of his movements...

Despite problems of rhythm, a poorly exploited concept and pataud physical confrontations (the imposing carcase of Liam Neeson begins to grin), this faithful remake of the Flemish polar Memory of the Killer is a B-series American action that does the job. The direction of Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Protected) is functional, the international casting has bottle (Guy Pearce, Monica Bellucci), characterization of characters is not forgotten and the scenario uses twists welcome. It's a good one, but it's still solid!

IMAGE – Large household in El Paso

Digitally captured, these images are delivered to us through an impressive UHD HDR10 transfer.

Slightly darker than his SDR counterpart, too clear for his own good, he reveals a three-dimensionality absent from the Blu-ray thanks to a much better resolution (the decors, the registration plates) and a much less soft pitch (this is noticeable on the faces).

The light noise on the flats is more than a bad memory, the colorimetric palette that is more pleasantly warm (the carnation) is much richer (the depth of the blues, the lenght of the reds), the contrasts are otherwise more attractive (the blacks are denser and the whites more at all burned) and all the light sources benefit from a drastically increased radiance (the gyrophars of the intervention vehicles, the light of the day, the flashlights, the interior lighting, the reflections in the pool and on the bodywork).

SON – The memory of the silencer

With good dynamics (the shootings) and quality spatialisation (the noises of the atmosphere), this soundtrack proposed in DTS-HD MA 5.1 is continuously immersive and open when the action requires it.

The dialogues are intelligible, the score (tempetuous volunteers) as well as the effects (not only pyrotechnics) pass through all channels, and the LFE channel unpacks bass regularly striking.

CONCLUSION – Too old for this bullshit?

If he leaves few memories after viewing, this Murderful memory is supported by a professional 4K Ultra HD whose treatment effectiveness (good A/V benefits) hinders the evolution of Alzheimer's disease at best!

Memory (2022)

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
