Edition that may be said to be a little too fast lower than the previous years, the 77nd Festival de Cannes still had serious assets to promote and a few punched works reminding that genre films have now found their nobility letters on the cruise. A female festival?

In his latest feature film ParthenopeSorrentino treated a woman with magnetic beauty and repelled the desires of men. An inaccessible heroine who sees « desire as a mystery » and « sex as her funeral ». The theme of domestic violence was not left behind with She where a woman is accused of killing her violent husband. Cronenberg, for his part, described our relationship to mourning and the fate reserved for the remains of the deceased in his latest very personal film entitled Shrouds.
With Emilia PerezAwarded both the grand prize of the jury and the prize of female interpretation, Audiard directly questioned the genres by the delicate question of the sexual transition against the backdrop of Mexican cartels. A bold and political project as already evidenced by the waves of transphobic indignation seen on the lamentable comments of the media Cnews. And even on the red carpet, the question of inclusion became impersonated with the rise of revolting steps for the film team One more thing..
