WORK – A Divided House
The true story of the family empire that hides behind the famous Italian luxury brand, Gucci. Over three decades of passions, betrayals, decadence, revenge and finally murder, the film depicts what a name means, what it is worth and how far a family can go to regain control.
Between family tragedy and crazy stuffing, this luxurious Italian saga, where passion, lies, jealousy, betrayals and revenge rhythmize the story (mighty but captivating), is a parade of stars (dominated by Lady Gaga, a crazy monster woman greedy) and grandiose outfits on an academic but wildly elegant podium.
IMAGE – Poker Face
To make the most of this maelstrom of luxurious decors and costumes more chic than each other, head the present UHD HDR10 transfer since it is captured digitally and benefits from an intermediate 4K master, the image is truly superb.
Reworked in post-prod to give the illusion of film shooting (the presence of a light falsely silver grain) and period colorimetry (the careful desaturation of hues), it displays an even more sharp tincture than in HD (see details on faces, clothes and backgrounds), colors adapted to events (beginning amber before icing) more beautifully invigorated (reds), a soberly enhanced contrast rate (brighter blacks and purer whites) and light sources of a whole other boldness (internal lighting, solar radiation on snow, neon on certain evenings).
SON – Fashion victim
Essentially driven by characters whose dialogues (perfectly clear) are naturally exuded by the power station, the VO proposed in DTS-HD MA 5.1 also has a wide disco-pop score (from tubes of the 80-90s) and well distributed atmospheres (the animation of the stores). However, the LFE channel is not very popular.
As delicate and meticulous as his friend, the Italian soundtrack is, however, more open at the rear (mixing 7.1 obliges).
CONCLUSION – Luxury or counterfeit product?
Drawn from a number of scandalous facts, the dizzying fall of the Gucci Empire (difted over several decades) sees the limits of its measurement crossed with the 4K Ultra HD edition, whose fabric is of superior quality!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
