WORK - Love in the air ❤️
In the city of Element City, fire, water, land and air live in the most perfect harmony. It is here that resides Flam, a fearless and lively young woman, with a well tempered character, and Flack, a sentimental and fun boy, rather a follower in the soul. The friendship they make challenges Flam's beliefs about the world in which they live...
If Zootopia and Vice versa in this 27th feature animated film Pixar Studios (which remain in their element), however, it does not recycle the peripetias and touches the heart when it concentrates on the soul states of its very endearing couple. Visually sublime and declaring its flame in a diverse city, this beautiful love story on the background of acceptance of difference can neither extinguish nor evaporate!

Even if it leaves a little bit of it (especially in the darkest planes) with a slight tingling that betrays a somewhat wasteful encoding, this UHD HDR10 transfer remains stunning overall thanks to its wonderful colours and palpable textures.
The definition is excellent (cf. the broad plans of the city) and hardly weakens, the sharpness which is absolute precision shows details even clearer than in 1080p (the facial expressions of the flamboyants, the bark and the foliage of the terriers) and the depth of field is superb.
The perfectly saturated colorimetric palette sees its shades gain in richness (yellow-orange fire, water blues), the contrasts have been solidified (blacks are denser and whites bolder) and the light sources spread with increased shine (reflections on glass surfaces, blue flame, Vivistia flowers, urban lighting).
SOUND - Lightning ⚡
Expressive and immersive, the soundtrack Dolby Atmos (reserved for VO) also lacks neither depth nor power... A notable improvement on the part of Disney that has been confirmed since some recent releases. The end of mixing « Dolby Atmouse » ?
The playful score of Thomas Newman and the very varied effects (special mention of the city and water sounds) pass through all channels with a true commitment (even if the verticality of the sound is used only with parsimony), the dynamics and basses have not been left aside (of the weight and impact during the moving scenes), and the dialogues benefit from a rendering of great clarity.
Less precise than his 3D colleague, the VF proposed in Dolby Digital More 7.1 nevertheless continues to enjoy an extended rear scene, living atmospheres and persuasive scope.
CONCLUSION - Flack + Flam
In a world in which fire, water, air and earth are at a crossroads, an allegedly impossible romance will arise between two opposing elements despite family pressure, the shock of cultures and the laws of physics. And while she ignites the heart more on 4K Ultra HD support (A/V fire all flames), this adorable romantic comedy for the whole family gives hope back in love!
