WORK - None Nation Under God

In the near future where the United States is on the brink of collapse, war reporters cover its fall through a fractured America...

As he denounces the war in the absolute, this dystopical road trip on the cover of conflicts that is interested in photojournalists (not soldiers) in a nation that is in disarray where fury and chaos reign, retains its neutrality (it is not a political film and therefore there is no need to choose its side) to better question the importance of information and the power of the image.

In fact, like an alarming snapshot, this blockbuster of author with punching staging, oppressive suspense and roundly conducted action, launches a warning to a humanity mined by divisions in the hope that it does not reproduce the mistakes of the past.

Wonderful as a war photographer destroyed by years to document the horrors of war, the unjustly underestimated Kirsten Dunst (Trilogy Spider-Man by Sam Raimi) marks his print on the filmAlex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation, Men).

« Once you start asking these questions you can't stop. So we don't ask. We record so other people ask. »

IMAGE - Eyes of War

From a digital capture using inexpensive light cameras (a similar choice was made by Gareth Edwards during the shooting of The Creator), this UHD Dolby Vision transfer supported by HEVC compression in tempered steel (an average bitrate of 79.8 Mbit/s) honors the proximity of the photograph « taken on the alive » (we are the eyes of all witnesses) of the leader op Rob Hardy. Any proportion kept, mind ofRevelation Now Not far from the theatre of operation.

The definition is right, the clinical cleanliness also (not the slightest granularity on the horizon), and the details, already prominent on the Blu-ray, contract a sharpness great (the pores of the skin, the textile fibers, the state of advanced decay of certain sets). It should be noted that the CGIs blend perfectly into the landscape.

The incredibly luxuriant colorimetric palette takes full advantage of the WCG (green nature, graffiti on the walls), the contrasts have been significantly expanded (the night blacks are now absolute) and the light sources, clearly bold (the Peak Nits Light was measured at 483 cd/m2 and the MaxCLL at 1210 Nits), show a brightness of no other kind (the flames during the night forest fire or the scavenging of tracer ammunition).

Civil War

What kind of Americans?

Designed by Glenn Freemantle (Gravity, Wonka), this Dolby Atmos-anthology mix that comes to equip the VO (24-bit, 4120 kbps) and the VF (24-bit, 4230 kbps) is a demonstration of strength whose final in Washington D.C. is not without reference to the acoustic fury of the intro intro in We have to save Private Ryan. and urban clashes The Fall of the Black Falcon.

As an integral part of the narration (cf. the click of cameras leading to rapid image stops coupled with a fleeting cut of all sounds), this ultra immersive soundtrack which throws us into the hell of the civil war is swarming with effects/ambiences (the tumult of pyrotechnics in the face of the appeasement of nature) on all enclosures, including vertical channels whose use is memorable (helicopters, various projectiles and fighter planes very regularly overlook the battlefield). The dialogues are perfectly restored, the original soundtrack (with titles from the 1970s to 1980s) is seriously extensive and the bass are massively moved (especially during explosions).

Except for dubbing (well incorporated and showing permanent accuracy), there is no difference between the two sound tracks.

CONCLUSION - Photo shock

Acting before the worst happens, this is the credo of this big production A24 which focuses on the job of war reporter as a new civil war breaks out in the United States. And when violence and barbarism flood the country, these heroes capture the real through a journey to the uncertain end that the present 4K Ultra HD, by means of A/V performances with destabilizing realism, makes more terrifying than ever!

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
