WORK – Between men
In the near future, women have disappeared. Todd Hewitt's world is inhabited only by men, and all are subject to the noise, a mysterious force that reveals their thoughts and allows everyone to know those of others. When a young woman, Viola, lands in catastrophe on this planet, she finds herself in great danger. Todd then swears to protect her, but to succeed, he will have to reveal his inner strength and pierce the dark secrets that stifle his world...
Adapted from The Voice of the Knife, first volume of literary trilogy The Chaos on the move, this western science fiction « young adult » is a post-apocalyptic blockbuster entertaining with engaging rhythm (action scenes move well). But if its strange concept is intriguing and the actors involved (Tom Holland and Mads Mikkelsen in the lead), it is difficult to ignore the presence of extremely generic characters and the shortcomings of a scenario (everything is hovered) which is only the shadow of the novel.
IMAGE – Beautiful « Noise »
From a DI 4K, this superb UHD Dolby Vision transfer that is owed to the publisher Lionsgate Films is in just seconds its domination over the yet excellent 1080p version.
The increase in detail is impressive (palpable fabrics, scalpel-cut backgrounds), the colorimetric palette is much more nuanced (greens of the forest environment), the contrasts are well consolidated (the passage in the wreck) and the different lighting (light) « Solar », the reflections on the water and the representation of « Noise ») show increased realism.
SON – Being subject to « Noise »
Equipped with aerial support which allows, among other things (cf. the crash of the spacecraft and the rustling of leaves), to float the thoughts of the male protagonists (the famous « Noise »), here is a soundtrack Dolby Atmos with the dynamic range fully deployed, with frequent surround activity (environmental effects do not stop sweeping the listening piece), with extended score and with striking bass.
CONCLUSION – Lost in space!
Beautiful to look at and « fun » to listen, Chaos Walking We land on Ultra HD Blu-ray support with a high level A/V presentation. What are you waiting for to join the colonists?
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
