WORK - Blood Anger
Toured by a neurotic and tyrannical mother, life is not pink for Carrie. Especially since she is the head of Turkish girls in college. It only suffers and cannot return the blows, until it discovers a strange supernatural power.
Adapted from the first novel by Stephen King and influenced by the master Hitchcock, this amazing macabre ten-movie stuck between Puritan America (which he will exorcise) and libertarian America (which he will punish) releases his hormones, stimulated by the formal audacity of Brian De Palma, to avenge the painful soul and the repressed femininity of a persecuted Cinderella embodied by the virginal Sissi Spacek. A great classic of contemporary horror cinema!
IMAGE - In the shower
From a new 4K scan of the original negative, this UHD Dolby Vision transfer comes to crown the photograph of Mario Tosi... A sacre long hoped after the disappointment of 2013 (the Blu-ray published by MGM shamefully defiled)!
The images are of great stability and cleanliness, the heavily silveric texture (a 35 mm capture) is presented in all its complexity and the textures, otherwise richer, add to the fineness of details (the close-ups on the faces, hairstyles, clothes, elements of the decor) without masking any sweetness and other blurry times.
The colorimetric palette that sees its primaries reinforced (yellows and more exalted reds) flirt a little more with the blues while maintaining a healthy carnation (except for Carrie but it is voluntary), the contrasts that are better adjusted improve the depth of the dark interiors while revealing details in the shadows (scrambled until then) and the light sources, little demonstrative by nature and sometimes even sepulcrales, were increased with parsimony (more sparkling at the ball and more blafardes at Carrie).
Let's pray to my daughter!
Very respectful of the original mono-mixing (present on the disc) because faithful to its sound design and its frontality (which therefore continues to predominate), the track DTS-HD MA 5.1 discreetly enlarges the atmospheres (the rear scene was invited to the festivities at the end of the year), delivers the score of Pino Donaggio (which takes advantage of it to envelop the listener), never laugh at dialogues (retroduced with as much cleanness as clarity) and summons a LFE channel quick to render service (roaring of the flames, slamming of doors, the burst of plate).
CONCLUSION - The prom queen?
A prisoner of his own body who made him become a woman in shame, Carrie will regain her possession in revenge. Then freed from the eyes of others to better emancipate, his innocence broken by the cruelty of the world will give rise to the monstrosity of adulthood... With even more scary impassibility on 4K Ultra HD support!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
