WORK – Bad Boys fantasy

In L.A. where the tensions between species are raging, a human cop and his orca partner fall on a powerful object and find themselves mixed up in a territorial war...

Finding its quality in a varied and original lore that it ultimately exploits only on the surface, with the image of its characters (liched) yet far from being uninteresting, this fantastic buddy movie very (too) first degree and willingly over-aesthetized enchain, within a scenario holding on a postage stamp, the raw action scenes of deforming under a fantasy varnish. Honest but superficial, this entertainment would have deserved a continuation to develop its universe.

IMAGE – Magic in the Moonlight

Making intensive use of light sources (urban lighting, neon, gyrophare) during scenes plunged into darkness (80% of the feature film), this image salined by the use of a light granularity benefits from a very good sharpness and an enchanted lustre (the Dolby Vision technology here is brilliant to the possible).

And if photography is deliberately tarnished in broad daylight, the contrasts are in full possession of their means (cf. the depth of the blacks) as soon as night falls.

SON – The Prophecy Is Coming

Presenting a turbulent rear scene (the bubbling of the city, the effects of the magic wand) and a perfectly scripted verticality (rain, thunder, the resonance of the engines in a tunnel), the VO Dolby Atmos is an ultra-immersive soundtrack that effectively handles pressure with well-feeling low-frequency salves (especially during the use of Urban music) and a sufficiently striking dynamic during the many heats (fires, the shouting of tires).

More limited in its acoustic precision and « nailed to the ground » (excluding activation of a virtualization DSP), the VF that uses the regular voice of Will Smith (in the person of Greg Germain) remains no less competent with a magnitude, clarity and spatialization of a good level.

CONCLUSION – The Lord of the Bling-bling?

When the creatures of Lord of the Rings visit the lowlands of Los Angeles from Training Day, it's Netflix which serves as a tourist guide with first-rate (audiovisual of course) services!
