WORK – It's the iceberg coming in!
In this new adventure, Batman will need his bold partner Robin, on his frantic turbo bike. Indeed, the glacial Mr.Freeze makes reign a wave of polar cold on Gotham City with the complicity of the beautiful and poisonous Poison Ivy, with the deadly kiss and sinuous forms, who dreams of subjecting the world to the power of women-flowers.
Openly kitsch and ultra-colored, Batman and Robin fully assumes its filiation with the TV series of the 60s to become a funny and stupid competition nanar that shoots in derision the universe of the Black Knight (with prominent nipples). Humour at the height of the ever credible WTF daisies and action scenes are therefore surrounded by gigantic baroque decorations, where the four-star casting (not Schwarzy what!) amuses like little fools to give themselves the replica in front of the camera without point of view of a Joel Schumacher under ecsta. A guilty pleasure as there are few.
IMAGE – It's a Robin signal, not a Bat signal!
The definition of the Blu-ray has been blurred, the shrewd colors and the terribly flat appearance of the Blu-ray have left room for much more pleasant images since greatly improved (not to say transformed).
The granular structure is a beautiful finesse, the sharpness of the frame is massively increased, the details are infinitely more revealing (the pores of the skin, the costumes, the decorations), the colorimetric palette is brighter and brighter (the reds and the blues detach as never before), the contrasts are more intense (they lean on brighter whites and more cavernous blacks) and the lights of all kinds (especially the silver glitters on Mr. Freeze's face) are brighter as possible.
SON – Freeze, frozen!
The VO Dolby Atmos, which is ultra-energistic and without restraint, is quite prodigious in its kind.
Freely amplifying the least small effect within a spectacular multichannel activity (the surrounds are in the box), it is also provided with enveloping music that keeps on engaging, heavily armed bass and firm voices (Swarzenegger's, deliberately artificial, is sometimes retransmitted on several channels). Finally, she uses a particularly fun aerial scene (Batman who passes through a roof window, Freeze who uses his blaster, Bane who throws a man, Poison Ivy who redecorates his den, the trajectory of a rocket, the air produced by the « breakdown » of cold, etc.) which accentuates the feeling of acoustic space.
Surprisingly, the VF is also inside and does not really have to blush despite necessarily less precise spatialization.
CONCLUSION – Don't plan on putting me in the cold!
- No sign of the snowman.
– Maybe he melted?
– No, he must hibernate!
– Let's not lose our cold blood. Let's heat the 4K Ultra HD and start the air conditioning.
