WORK - The revenge of a blonde
1900. From Montmartre to Belleville, Paris is in the hands of ultra-violent gangs that terrorize the capital: the Apaches. Ready to avenge his brother's death, a young woman joins a gang. But the closer she gets to the man she wants to eliminate, the more fascinated she is by the latter.
Some Peaky Blinders to the French, this western pop animated by the energy of despair of her tarantine heroine (Alice Isaaz with plume like the Beatrix Kiddo of Paname) masks the weaknesses of his scenario (the sub-intrigues are barely touched, the revolutionary context sacrificed and the rebounds telephoned) by his over-the-air staging, his whirlwind of violence, his beautiful band of actors (the charismatic leader Niels Schneider in « rockstar » his venous romanticism and his anachronistic reconstruction. An excellent HD transfer that delights from the signed pulp photography Jean-Paul Agostini where the shadows of underground rades are near the dusty luminosity of the streets of the capital.
The very high definition highlights the work of technical lepic (many details in costumes, decors and make-up), the colours of postcards with explosive hues play on the different atmospheres of the places visited and the management of contrasts, carefully studied (blacks are intense and bold whites), brings what it takes from depth to the whole.

Totally in line with the visuals it sounds, this noisy multichannel mixing with careful distribution and venereal dynamics will fill your ears!
The pyrotechnic effects (it dry petarade) and environmental atmospheres extend generously over all the enclosures for maximum wrapping, the epic partition of Yves Gourmeur and pre-existing songs (I Wanna Be Your Dog, Lets Twist Again, Lollipop, Lets Push Things Forward, etc.) have a great energy, the dialogues are lively and well detached, and the LFE channel is really not a small hit.
CONCLUSION - Under gangster control
While the Apaches terrified bourgeois and traders in the Paris of the 1900s, this revenge movie in a highly jubilatory Blu-ray costume (the A/V performances have class) takes its spectators towards a seductive modern proposal that stands out from the all-coming of French production.
