WORK – Apocalypse in front of home
A young woman wakes up in a cellar after a car accident. Not knowing how she landed in this place, she initially thinks she was kidnapped. His guardian tries to reassure her by telling her that he saved her life after a major chemical attack. In the absence of certainty, she decides to escape...
Taking place in the Clover, 10 Cloverfield Lane is an in camera haling with anxiogenic atmosphere, virtuoso staging and heavyweight casting, which changes the register during a disarraying final. Passionate!
IMAGE – What is behind the door?
Unlike Blu-ray, the definition no longer fades (in the darkest scenes) and the slight video noise has disappeared.
For the rest, we find ourselves with brighter images with subtly enhanced details (see background objects), colder and/or warmer colours (healthier flesh tones) and nuanced (a more creamy photograph), even denser contrasts (blacks are a bit deeper) and brighter light sources (headlights, artificial lighting, flames).
SON – The danger... So far, so close!
All the speakers are used with dexterity, including LFE channel, to play heavy atmospheres (airing) and/or amazing effects (the noises above the bunker) with burning dynamics.
The VF does not detract even if the rendering is far below.
CONCLUSION – The monster is not the one we believe
If you have to take your quarters to be « Home » The present 4K Ultra HD imposes as (being) THE right address!
