WORK – No, but say, is it good or not?
After World War I, head for the 1980s! This time Wonder Woman has to face a new enemy, particularly formidable: Cheetah.
Too long for his own good and not free from defects (incoherences, playing in saw teeth and failed antagonists), this blockbuster who has heart takes the time to pose his stakes and develop his characters (the psychology of Diana Prince) before giving free rein to his super-powers (action scenes make sparks).
IMAGE – Everyone's beautiful, are you sure?
Improving the already stunning image of its HD counterpart, this Dolby Vision UHD transfer (or HDR10+ depending on your hardware) does not suffer from any defects.
Because of the IMAX scenes offered in 1.90 format (intro to Themyscira and the conclusion) at the 35 mm capture delivered in 2.39 (all the rest), the visible details from everywhere are even clearer (in particular during the IMAX sequences), the silver patina necessarily granular (when the 35 mm is used) gains in finesse, the faithfully reproduced colors are much more vibrant (the primary ones shine), the naturally engaging contrasts enjoy an increased richness (cf. the depth of the frame) and the light sources very 80s (the neons) push their radiation (the lasso of truth) far beyond the capacities of the Blu-ray.
SON – He who has ears to hear, hear!
Always immersive (atmospheres everywhere) and truly seductive (great homogeneity of mixing), this 3D soundtrack with demonstrative spatialization (surrounds + height channels) and striking basses (impact of explosions) puts us at the heart of the action not without a slight lack of dynamic side (correct without more).
CONCLUSION – Every good thing has an end...
Neither the best nor the worst movie of the DCEU, this WW 84 is far from being the announced disaster... Even more if you choose the 4K Ultra HD!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
