WORK - God of War

To avenge the massacre of his adoptive family, Perseus, half-man, half-God, took the lead of a group of courageous warriors and undertook a perilous journey into the depths of the forbidden worlds, populated by ungodly demons, ferocious beasts and fearsome monsters. To survive, he will have to create his own destiny...

From mythological-fantastic peplum to bald writing (underdeveloped characters and simplistic intrigues) but to accomplished artistic direction (bold costumes, an impressive bestiary and colossal decorations) where the very free and simplified myth of Perseus (under the traits of a Sam Worthington who gives of his person), in front of the cameras of Louis Lettier and Jonathan Liebesman, becomes a homeer's show (from herculean action scenes to striking CGIs) whose only quest is to smash everything in its passage. Openly deprecated, this Hollywood popcorn movie nevertheless fills the view.

« I created them and they reward my love by challenging me... there will be no truce. »

IMAGE - From Olympus to Tartarus

Without any digital anomaly (a bitrate flying regularly above 130 Mbit/s!), these UHD Dolby Vision transfers from a DI 2K (provided by Warner Bros.) correct the few wanders of the previous Blu-ray (the whites somewhat burned on The Titans' Shock and light video noise on The Anger of Titans), limit the softness of certain plans (since loaded with a ton of SFX) and magnify the visual characteristics of the photographs Peter Menzies Jr. (35 mm 2.39) and Ben Davis (Super 35 1.85).

The increase in resolution brings out many details (the attributes of the faces, the component of armor, the weaving of clothes, the rubble of part of the decorations) and the silver texture (more prominent in the second part), despite the abundance of sands, mist, debris and smoke that splash the image, appears to be significantly refined.

Very earthy, the sometimes desaturated colorimetric palette (especially on the side of the primarys that still benefit from the WCG) benefits from an additional heat where the carnation stands out for a much better health. Pleasantly reinforced, the contrasts accentuate the depth of the blacks without crushing the shadows (cf. the bowels of hell) and enrich the purity of the whites. The light sources (such as the radiation of the weapons created by Hephaistos, the flames in Medusa and the light of the day) reveal a surplus of brightness without, however, aggravating the Nit counter (only rarely exceeding 400 cd/m2 in the first and 200 cd/m2 in the second).

When Titans Ruled The Earth

- Release the Kraken!

If the Greek gods did not consider it useful to add verticality (wherein the interest to activate a DSP of virtualization in view of the numerous aerial demands) to the present mixes DTS-HD MA 5.1, however, the result is particularly devastating and places us at the heart of the battle.

The dynamics are unbridled, the fragrant effects (it is madness against the scorpions and the Kraken) and other inflamed atmospheres (the liberation of Kronos) abound on all the channels (the activity surrounds is thundering), the spatialization which is remarkable (the crossing of the labyrinth is the most beautiful example) makes live the environments without any restriction, the intelligibility of the dialogues is effective throughout, the heroic compositions of the Ramin Djawadi and Javier Navarrete There is no lack of magnitude or ventilation and the LFE channel, which is regularly caught in fury, delivers bass whose impact and depth are always appropriate

CONCLUSION - Name of Zeus

Very different from the adventurous fantasy in 1981 Ray Harryhausen, this mythological auction dedicated body and soul to action will save humanity not without equipping a 4K Ultra HD with titanium A/V performances. Fear his anger!

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
