WORK – Aging, the adventure of life!

Raised by his unmarried mother, Wendy is in a magicless daily life. One night, the girl goes on an adventure by jumping on a train running with her two brothers, the twins James and Douglas. At the end of the trip, they landed on a mysterious island, where children do not seem to be aging and where reigns a rebel boy named Peter Pan.

An indie review of J. M. Barrie's novel, this confusing journey guided by sensations and not reason is a beautiful wild work oozing melancholy. Yet, despite the unquestionable originality and grace of its young actors, this eco-friendly fable to the chiaded staging never really flies away because of a story struck and a smacky rhythm. In short, a particular experience!

IMAGE – Neverland has changed

Deeply cinematic, the image captured in 16 mm is fantastically wonderful... Like the present HD transfer, just a few quiucs!

The colorimetric palette, first dull (Wendy's house and surroundings) and then lively (the island and the surrounding ocean), is fantastic. The details, whether they are well lit (exposed in daylight) or immersed in darkness (illuminated by a campfire), are remarkable. As for granularity, deliciously textured, and contrasts, raw to wish, they fully participate in the naturalistic charm of photography. Still it is that compression makes its own during underwater scenes (some tingling and some colour banding).

SON – Young people's passion

If the lack of the Dolby Atmos mix disappoints (the fauna and flora of the island would have benefited a lot), these tracks proposed in DTS-HD MA 5.1 still remain as realistic as they do on the island.

The dialogues are always audible (it should be noted that the French dubbing is of quality), the mystico-adventure score covers space, the spatialisation is marked (the customers of the restaurant, the sound of birds and other insects, the pressure of water) and the basses, little stimulated but well deep when active, rumble as it should (the movement of trains).

CONCLUSION – Take the train on!

If you have to agree to grow old in order not to miss out on life, it is important to keep your child's soul and live in harmony with the nature around you. The life cycle must be respected and therefore it is essential to teach children, the guarantors of the future of the Earth, to protect nature. For parents, Wendy is a reminder shot !.. Who arrives at home in a delicate box.

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
