WORK – Adolescence crisis in space
A group of young people, both brilliant and disciplined, boarded a ship as part of an expedition to colonize a distant planet in order to save the human race. But the discovery of disturbing details about the mission, will question their formation and push them to question their most primitive instincts. Life on board then turns into chaos, and they are in turn gnawed by fear, lust, and an insatiable thirst for power...
SF version of Her Majesty the Flies, this thriller young adult in closed space may not be as trash as expected, classification PG-13 obliges, but remains sufficiently tense and well executed for the timeless parable on the primitive essence of human nature to work.
IMAGE – It's cold in space... or not!
While version 1080p is already top, this presentation 4K UHD transports us further!
The level of detail is greatly improved (the accuracy of the epidermis, the hairs that stand up), the colorimetric palette becomes more expressive (the blue shades are deeper and the yellow spaces brighter), the contrasts are much firmer (the space black) and the light sources are more pleasantly bright (the stars, the neon lights).
SON – In space, the revolt is rumbling!
If it lacks a bit of scope and life, this Dolby TrueHD 5.1 soundtrack, limited by the narrow claustrophobic passages of the spaceship's corridors (i.e. the immersion is rather tightened), yet has sufficient acoustic ability (some gusts of well-feeling bass) to allow the subtlety of its mixing (dialogues are rendered clean) to coexist with the aggressiveness (which can invade the rear scene) of passages where behaviors begin to spin!
CONCLUSION – How do you feel?
Technically strong, the Ultra HD Blu-ray is the preferred support to follow this « walk » intersideral where a group of young adults, unable to repress their lowest instincts, will sow zizania even though the future of the human species is in their hands. Not easy to be sexually tormented!
