WORK – Who wants Jerry's skin?
When Jerry settled in the most beautiful hotel in New York on the eve of the wedding of the century, Kayla, the planner wedding, had no choice but to hire Tom to get rid of the intruder. But the race-prosecution that engages between the cat and the mouse risks to destroy the young woman's career, ruin the party and destroy the hotel! Yet, when an ambitious, devoured employee starts to take Tom, Jerry and the planner wedding, it's a much greater danger that threatens them...
In this feature film mixing CGI and real shots, Hannah-Barbera's mouse and feline fighters didn't take a wrinkle thanks to slapstick gags (a deliberately exaggerated physical violence) that still fly. But a little technically limited and animated by a used scenario up to the rope, this tender, funny and rhythmic comedy sometimes takes water. However, children should love where parents are more nostalgic.
IMAGE – Cat, do you see me?
Despite the inexcusable absence of an Ultra HD Blu-ray (DI 4K and colorimetric palette designed for the HDR), this HD transfer explodes with details and colors.
The definition is fantastic, the depth of field regularly resembles 3D without glasses, the toons integrate with a lot of sharpness (but not always well) into the real world, the different shades are bright, the contrasts are sustained, the overall solid compression (to a few artifacts) and the charming silver faux grain.
SON – Cat, do you hear?
Moved and loaded, this Dolby Atmos mix has dog!
Channel separation is excellent, panoramic effects abound and aerial channels abound « fun » As soon as the camera reaches Jerry. Then there is also a delightful variety of tubes spread with plume.
More tense, the VF(Q) cannot follow the infernal pursuits of the mythical duo.
CONCLUSION – Paddle in New York
Trying with more or less success to prolong their days of glory, Tom and Jerry are lucky to be well off by this excellent A/V presentation!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
