WORK – Ticks, Ticks... Boom!
Giant and particularly aggressive ticks attack a group of young people who have gone for a simple and peaceful walk in the forest.
« Old » animal horror of the 90s that one would swear to be released from the 80s, this Z-trend B series that benefits from successful mechanical effects and some memorable attacks (the veterinary practice), unfortunately falls into the genre (the characters are clichés on legs) in addition to being rarely fond of dead (not many young people pass there). If she doesn't surprise, she's still distracting.
IMAGE – Welcome to Camp Madelaine
This HDR10 UHD transfer comes from a 4K scan of the 35mm intervector, which has a famous mordant « classic » video clubs. Unwashed in comparison, the image of the previous Blu-ray seems ultra-dated and would evoke almost the era now past where the VHS was the star of the salons.
The source has been meticulously cleaned, the fine details are legions (woody interiors, clothing fiber, pores of the skin, thread that allows the « small » The colorimetric palette has been rejuvenated with richly saturated primaries (luxuriant vegetation) and a more natural carnation, the contrasts are much stronger (especially deep blacks and whites of beautiful purity) to enhance the readability of night action, and the light sources that are sometimes very intense (light of the day) have been reinvigorated (light flashlights, fire). Nevertheless, without a scan of the negative, the silver grain is heavier than it should.
SOUND – Tic-tic-tic-tic-tic-tic
With a good width and an engaging dynamic, this 2.0 Surround soundtrack (a four-channel mix) delivers unsavory effects (gluing cocoons), solicits backs all along (and it starts from the start with thunder) and is equipped with a musical score with obvious clarity. However, some dialogues suffer from distortion (such as the hardness of « S ») quite unpleasant in the ear.
CONCLUSION – Fresh blood supplies
Many and terribly voracious, these galloping mini-vampires from everywhere will infest your home-cinema in 4K Ultra HD. Prepare your lighters!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
