WORK – Before the storm, Wind and Cloud!
In order to reign in despotia and impose his supremacy on the other clans of the kingdom, Lord Xiong Ba must find ten magical weapons. A prophecy tells him that he must gather and form Vent and Cloud, two disciples who are only children, to guarantee his invincibility. When they reach adulthood, they become super-combatants, but their destiny can only be fulfilled if they confront Xiong Ba, their evil adoptive father...
By appropriating the aesthetical imagination of video games (up to the virtuality of certain sets) and reproducing extravagant confrontations where martial arts and magic (the digital effects are still nice) are only one, this neo wu xia pian to the ultra-stylized staging, posers and the universe of fantasy respectful of the eponymous comic strip, has been able to impose as the Zu Of the 90s. A certain cult!

As it improves over the course of the viewing, once the CGI flood of the first quarter of an hour has been calmed, this sometimes visible compression HD transfer (it happens to the silver grain to be shaken) still has to resign itself to displaying a fluctuating definition and an inconstant pique due to the means of captures and other visual tripatoulages (such as the use of filters) that permeate the photograph, itself heavily reworked in post-prod.

If he deprives us of the Dolby Digital EX 6.1 (Cantonese and Mandarin) mixes of his counterpart HK, published in 2009 by Universe, this record is forgiven with the presence of a multichannel Cantonese track rid of the parasitic breath that would disturb it until then. But to enjoy it, especially in comparison with the powerful stereo mixes (Cantonese and French), you should not hesitate to push the potard well beyond the reference volume (+ 12 dB at least).
Once done, and even if the dynamics cannot be fully recovered, you will be able to enjoy clear voices (unsynchronised from the origin of places), assured frontal opening, well-feeling basses (in particular in action scenes) and enveloping spatialisation (energy discharges and/or powers require many surround effects).
Precisely less immersive, stereophonic proposals really do not demerit and are even more extensive than the DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack. Cote dubbing, the VF shoots with honors.
CONCLUSION – And the manhua became live action
For the first time in Blu-ray by our countries, the generous The Storm Riders We arrive in an edition limited to well-stocked bonuses (presentation, interviews, making-of, meeting, trailer) and A/V performances able to fight for their honour!
