Fred is a normal guy, soon in his thirties, who is going through an existential crisis as he finds himself on the edge of the precipice of adulthood. Should he commit to his girlfriend in the long term? Should he take a job in a company to pay his bills and abandon his dream of becoming an artist? When a man forgotten of his youth resurfaces unannounced, Fred travels literally and metaphorically in his past. He slowly begins to pierce a long mystery about a missing girl, a drug called Mercury and a terrifying creature that followed him to adulthood... As the past, the present and the future intersect and parallel each other, Fred explores all possible lives that he could lead. Which one will he choose?
Admirably built, this ambitious psychological thriller in time loop where realities intertwine within a bold narrative, is carried by an incredible Dylan O « lighting its own light ». Striking and intriguing!
IMAGE – Vision Disorder
With its atmosphere regularly « cammed » which significantly degrades the pitch and strikes the colors, the photograph is hardly suitable for a technical demonstration... Not to mention the fact that images are often plunged into darkness with a persistent feeling of misty filter that unbalances contrasts.
But this HD transfer, « damaged » by the presence of a colour banding sometimes marked, returns excellent details (where possible) and benefits from a solid colorimetric palette (see striptease club).
SOUND – Discharge sensations
Voluntary « hallucinated », this carefully designed immersive soundtrack fills the acoustic space with strange atmospheres and effects « Floating » as soon as the scene demands. Dialogues are clear, the dynamics are effective and the lows are timely.
CONCLUSION – You want the drugs?
With or without a dose of Mercury, the answers to the questions asked may be clearer in Blu-ray... Even if it also seems to be under the influence of illegal products!
