WORK - The Wild Team

In the 1960s. The rise of a Midwest bike club seen through the lives of its members from a gathering place for local marginals to a more dangerous gang.

Band film then gang upon the return of Vietnam's war, this rise & fall sleek in America of marginals travels in Poppers on the roads of a melancholic western next to gangster polars at the Scorsese. And while the country is experiencing big social upheavals, big hard-hearted ones (the taiseux Austin ButlerThe tormented Tom Hardy) will move from innocence to violence under the gaze of a woman with a well tempered character (the loquace Jodie Comer). In short, a nostalgic chronicle of a subculture (now counterculture) and of a later era in which fraternity, passion and delinquency lived the hair in the wind.

« You do everything you can, it always becomes what it must be. »

IMAGE - Moto souvenir

From a capture KODAK 35 mm, the photograph with the tragic beauty (the sexy varnish of the scaly beginnings over the years)Adam Stone find in this transfer UHD HDR10 the Liberty Rider she needed to make her way.

The divinely organic texture is more accurately transcribed than on the Blu-ray, the level of definition shows itself a higher strand (the sweetness is inherent in the source), the details benefit from increased finesse (faces, clothes, bikes and decors) and despite an average bitrate of only 54.7 Mbit/s, no problem of encoding disturbs the trip.

The over-year colorimetric palette in love with earthy tones and pastel blue typical of the 70s displays enhanced primarys (green billiard tables, red dress) and an assanity carnation, the deliberately weak contrasts deliver deeper blacks (milky in places) and sharper whites, and the shine of light sources is reinforced (reflections on bodywork) while maintaining a timely temperance.

The Bikers

SOUND - Heart of Biker

On tubes of Cream and Rolling Stones (but not that) which come to resonate with great fidelity, the extremely balanced VO Dolby Atmos (16-bit, 2954 kbps) deploys a wonderful directionality (cf. the displacement of motorcycles) at the same time as the basses, mesmerously palpable, make the big cylinders spin.

The dynamics are reckless, the dialogues are rendered crystal clear and the rear scene is generously exploited during the various gatherings (bar reunions, country picnics, motorized walks). Not very present, verticality serves only to give height to some atmospheric atmospheres.

Returned to Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 (768 kbps), the VF drives in a group (successful spatialization) despite a lack of trunk (reduced by compression) unknown to the clan leader. The volume of dubbing (where Kathy and Johnny's accents unfortunately go to the hatch) does not interfere with the original mixing.

CONCLUSION - Born to Ride?

When American mythology gives way to illusions lost during a sudden exit from the road (the first fruits of the ultra liberal cynicism of the Reagan years), Jeff Nichols Look in the mirror with wave to soul. A twilight of bitumen inspired by the photographer's eponymous photo album Danny Lyon that this 4K Ultra HD, powered by four-cylinder A/V features, gives to live on wheel caps!

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

I found it very nice if I didn't really push the genre.
