WORK – Strange to oneself
In a last-generation prison, prisoners are offered the opportunity to volunteer as medical subjects in order to reduce their sentence. One of them, who is testing a new drug capable of generating love feelings, is beginning to wonder about the reality of his emotions...
If it blows over the length and only touches upon its interesting concept (less didactic than usual), this thriller of cynical and intimate SF where the protagonists haunted by their past are manipulated by a Chris Hemsworth to counter-use, is as visually stimulating as disturbing script writing.

Coming from a DI 4K, this magnificent UHD Dolby Vision transfer delivers an amazing definition, incredible sharpness details (a 6K capture), a colorimetric palette deliberately limited inside (clinical hues) but expressive outside (green environments make you want to walk and turquoise water to prick a head) to naturally hot carnation, absolutely fabulous contrasts (blacks are abyssal and bright whites) and light sources with noticeable dynamics (light of the day, prison lighting).

This Dolby Atmos soundtrack is particularly immersive and perfectly highlights the solid score of the Dolby Atmos soundtrack. Joseph Trapanese. The atmospheres regularly invite to the rear, the air stratum even though generally discreet remains appreciable (the storm, Steve's voice in the test rooms) and the dialogues are dispensed with with what it takes to ardour and clarity. As of course, the absence of a course of action « obstacle » somewhat the dynamics and activity of the LFE channel (although decent).
CONCLUSION – The new imprisonment?
Being « free » but foreign to his own feelings is it better than being « chained » in prison? It is to this moral and ethical question that Spiderhead Try to answer. And to follow this exciting debate, direction Netflix where it is broadcast in excellent conditions!
