WORK – Five days in Hell

England, 1665, the witch hunt and Great Pest are raging in Europe. A young widow, Evelyn Haverstock, is haunted by the recent suicide of her husband, Joseph. After refusing Pendleton's advances, the notable of the county, the latter mad with rage and jealousy accused him of being a witch.

Despite a serp-cut narrative and a certain lack of subtlety, this historical horror drama craspec with obvious feminist ambitions (the condition of the woman is highlighted there), the striking staging and painful (crude and realistic) torture sessions, manages to iconize her heroine (solidly interpreted by Charlotte Kirk) until she lets her revenge burst during the (unbelievable) last act, as graphic as it is enlivened. This « witch » So don't deserve to be misbeloved!

IMAGE – The inquisition is ugly!

With great sharpness, this HD transfer to the rarely flickering compression (from the colour banding on a handful of planes) spreads its (belle) depressive photo with the proper finesse.

The definition does not stumble at any time and reveals a sum of details at the four corners of the frame (large), the slightly washed colors are in conformity with the Middle Ages that they cover and the contrasts do not suffer from any bad spell with bright whites and blacks (no milky or crushed) always adapted to the circumstances.

SON – Like a sound running

With a better intelligibility of VF voices than in VO (where they are somewhat trampled by the effects when the action gets angry), this atmospheric soundtrack with intelligently designed mixing delivers a demonic dynamic, thick basses, an surround scene making regular sensation and a robust medieval score.

CONCLUSION – The witch hunt continues...

If in this B series the fear spreads like the plague, there is no need to pestilence this neat Blu-ray Disc edition whose work it presents is not to burn on the stake!

Witch (The Reckoning)

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
