WORK – Nightmare at 20,000 feet

During the Second World War, a young mechanic travelling with top secret documents on a B-17 bomber met an evil presence in mid-flight...

Series B pulp which has in its carlingual, this monster movie with feminist accents, where Chloë Grace Moretz is a very good uniform of the heroine badass, is an air closed camera (on a war background) carried out in a hell of a way that starts as a pure drama before turning into a mesmerously decomplexed action film (and let us admit it totally unlikely) with crazy energy. If you're in a mood, the trip won't disappoint you!

IMAGE – Mechanical damage

Obviously superior to Blu-ray, this UHD transfer delivered with the three HDR formats (HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision) offers a whole other light fishing (if the place allows) and benefits from many details in the high lights (as when the night sky is lightened by lightning flash), better trimmed.

And if it appears that the piqué, generally dreadful, differs only slightly from its HD counterpart, DI 2K obliges, the disc better manipulates the poor lighting of the tiny capsule (in the first part therefore) thanks to improved contrasts (it is darker than it is in SDR) and makes the intensity of its colors (less dull and warmer).

SON – In heaven, no one will hear you scream

Rhythmed by an excellent electro score with the John Carpenter heavily charged in bass, this mixing that « the head in the clouds » don't lesine by the means to board the legendary bomber B-17... Also called the flying fortress!

The appearances of the large-eared creature make the dynamics, the effects (the clicks of the metal parts, the presence of the intruder) and the atmospheres (the thundering of the thunder) fly very effectively spatialized (the movements of the Japanese fighter planes), the dialogues (face-to-face or by radio helmets) are not lacking in clarity and the LFE channel takes full part in the action (cf. the breath of a saving explosion).

In view of the location where Maude Garrett is installed, i.e. the ventral turret of the apparatus, a 3D soundtrack would not have been too much.

CONCLUSION – Gremlins love « Kiwis » Hey!

Gremlin Airline and its « wolf pack » Welcome aboard... And to better enjoy this enlivened flight, we advise you to bring the present Ultra HD Blu-ray!

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
