57. This is not about the bald murderer or the total of the cases in which Nicolas Sarkozy is trapped. This is the number of runs of the Resident Evil Rebirth From which I stopped counting. Besides, I also finished Resident Evil 2 and 3 Several dozen times. This series I read in the blood, with a particular love for the sacrosanct Trinity I named the original trilogy on PlayStation. Over the years a very active community has developed around these founding episodes, conducive to the speedruns and mods All more varied than each other. A broth of creativity in short for a saga aged 25 and whose ancestor of 1996 continues to make talk about him today.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe. Yes...
For those of you who would never have played Resident Evil in 1996, I invite you to watch a few seconds of the video below, cleverly tuned to start pile at the moment when the unit of S.T.A.R.S. enters the worrying Spencer mansion. Pay particular attention to the static decors, in the pre-calculated era history of putting their eyes full while accommodating the limited power of this good old PlayStation. She was released only a year ago on 29 September 1995 in Europe. The action of this survival horror In part, worship took place in a disturbing building in the dark corridors and at the detour of terrifying creatures. The title was fully playable in the third person, with fixed camera angles to reinforce the cinematic and claustrophobic aspect of the experience.
Just a focus
So imagine the surprise for a first-hour fan like me when I feverishly launched the Biohazard Project by PerroAutonomo AKA RichardAiken. This talented artist has indeed realized the feat of translating in subjective view an experience to the staging intrinsically designed to be played in the third person. And as much as to say that the result is striking of visual fidelity while allowing itself to be audacious scriptural freedoms, a story to surprise the old breakers which in any case constitute the niche to which this work of enthusiast is addressed. Whether in terms of the colour palette, the sound atmosphere or the overall sense of progression, Biohazard Project sweat the baby's love Mikami by all pores.
Beta obliges the game suffers from bugs, the definition is low and it is not possible to save, the fault to a sinuous development. However, it is feasible to finish the adventure, provided that sufficient skill to survive all the abominations that will get in our way. Personally I haven't managed it yet, like what to show when introducing his articles has its limits! But truce chatter and watch the work for yourself in this home video capture.

Interview with PerroAutonomo (RichardAiken)
Impressive, isn't it? I had barely finished my part that curiosity was already stinging me. Who could have developed such a project? How was he taken? Neither one nor two I left a comment with my contact details on itch.io, and the next day a notification illuminated my Twitter. Below is the French transcript of the written interview conducted in English.
Hello! Thank you very much for agreeing to answer MaG's questions. Could you first introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Javi but I still use aliases like El Perro, PerroAutonomo etc.... because I love dogs! [« dog » Says « perro » in Spanish NDLR]
Where do you come from and can you tell us more about your academic and professional background?
I am Spanish, specifically Madrilène. I didn't really go to school unlike most people. I left school at 17 to start working. I have held many different positions, all of which were generally precarious. I worked for a while in the video game while living in Germany, I keep good memories of this period. I learned a lot about Unity thanks to my bosses (now friends) but when the production ended I returned to the job precariousness in which I am currently working and in which I will probably remain the rest of my life. I own a « Master » In animation and 3D modeling which cost me very much but I am still very happy because it allowed me to flourish as an artist, even though it did not really open doors.
What's your relationship to the show? Resident Evil And how did you find out? What are your favorite episodes?
It seems to me that I was 12 when I discovered Resident Evil. The first time was at my neighbor's house. He had the version. Director and I remember very well the camera shots, these colors, the frame and the music. It took me several days to recover. I remember watching my neighbor play for a while then we went out to play football on the street. That afternoon I spent immobile time fixing the ground, with the backup room music playing in my head. I could only think of these camera shots, those colors and the visceral character of this story of people trapped in a silent house. Something similar happened when I saw the PlayStation for the first time with its demo of Tekken 2. Sure the video games had a huge impact on my life. As for my Resident Evil favorite it's hard to decide between the remake Gamecube and original on PlayStation.
Do you like others? survival horror outside Resident Evil ? If so, which ones?
The Last of Us: Part 2 is the last game I played and I finished. I don't like video games as much as I used to and now I rarely play them. I remember I bought Resident Evil 4 with a lot of enthusiasm and as I advanced I realized that I did not like what I saw at all. It was only later that I realized that Resident Evil never again would become what he had been. Otherwise I still finished a lot of other games, I'm thinking of Dead Rising, Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake, Bioshock…
When did you start working on the Biohazard Project ? Was this project alone?
I started working on this project two years ago. I did almost everything by myself. The only help I received was that of a few people for the script but I am responsible for 99% of the work.
How did this project start exactly? What gave you the idea of replaying the game with a first-person view? Why did you choose subjective vision in particular?
True, the choice of the first person was made a little by chance. I wanted to rebuild the house in 3D so people could see it from different angles on my account Sketchfab. I then thought that the house could also be seen in the first person and that's where I started a project on Unity from the rooms I had designed.
How would you define the term « artistic reconstruction » ?
In my view, artistic reconstruction consists in transferring an art past or anchored in its time to the present; if possible by magnifying the work with current technological tools in order to enjoy or observe it in more detail. I think it's overestimating what I do to call it « artistic reconstruction » But that's what came to mind when defining what I was doing.
In many respects artistic reconstruction is a major challenge. What are the main difficulties you've encountered?
The hardest part is I do it all by myself. I don't know how to program and I do it at a rate that greatly affects the overall quality of the project. A real reconstruction involves painting or restoring paintings or sculptures. What I do is to reimaginate a work of art even if I try to capture its essence as much as possible.
Visual fidelity (colors, environments) etc....) of your project is quite dazzling compared to the artistic direction of the first Resident Evil. How exactly are you taken to achieve such an authentic result?
I have the plan of the house engraved in my memory and he doesn't want to leave me. I still used the original model by building each plan after plan piece so that the result was as faithful as possible.
Have you ever had experience in artistic reconstruction?
Well I had already rebuilt my school in 3D and developed a game on Unity where the player could explore by making big leaps. It was honestly rather resembling.
You used Unity for this project. What do you think of this tool for independent developers?
Unity is incredibly intuitive, it's like a tool that would allow you to develop everything you imagine in your mind. Of course it remains a game engine, not a publisher. This requires the help of programming, modelling or digital drawing tools. Unity is fantastic.
The game is currently in beta version. Do you intend to continue updating the project? Are there particular features that you would like to incorporate into future updates?
I intend to continue the development even though I fear that people will be very disappointed because I do not see myself able to implement an inventory or storage system [a trunk to store NDLR objects]. Also the game can be finished with a milking. I am currently adding new scenes and I will try to add some more weapons. I also designed zombies that can be cut in half or mutilated. Actually zombies were already « mutilable » but they generated many glitches And I had to simplify them for beta.
Are you planning to ask for help from other programmers/developers on this project?
Yes and no. This project is a waste of time for anyone who wants to make any profit from it, and I understand it. Also any programmer who would look at his structure would laugh at me and finally I don't think I can do anything with it because it's even more rudimentary than a windmill. A friend has already tried but the widespread disorder of the project has disturbed. But yes I would love to receive the help of one or two programmers on this project.
Do you have any advice to give people interested in developing their own game?
Advice? Play games to have fun with you and your friends. To capture your artistic tastes and show them to others.
Hello! First could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Javi but I always use pseudonyms like El Perro, ,PerroAutonomo ... because dogs are the best!
Where do you come from and whats your background?
I am from Madrid, Spain. I have no studies. Not even basic studies that almost everyone has. I left school at 17 without success and I got to work. Ive been to many different jobs, almost all precarious. I worked for a while in videogames in a company where I had very good memories in Germany, I learned a lot about Unity from my bumps(friends), but the production was finished and I returned to the previous world of work in the one that I followed and most similarly will follow the rest of what remains of my life. I have a "master" of animation and 3dmax modelling that cost a lot of money, which I end up very happy with because I was able to make myself as an artist, but labor did not open any doors for me.
What is your relationship to the REvil series? When did you discover Resident Evil? What are your favorite episodes?
I discovered Resident Evil When I was 12 I think. The first time was at my nearby! He had the Directors Cut and I remember seeing these planets, these colors, the setting, the music left me marked for days. I remember that I was seeing my neighbor play for a while and then we go down to the street to play soccer. I stood still staring at the ground that afternoon, with the memory of the Save Room song in my mind. I could only think of these planets, the colors and the progress of the story of people who were trapped in a silent mansion. Something similar happened to me when I first saw the play station and the Tekken 2 Demo. Videogames definitely impacted me. That videogames. My Favorite Resident Evil It is torn between the Resident Evil Remake and the original Resident Evil 1.
Besides Resident Evil, do you like other survival-horror games and if so which ones?
The last game I played and completed was Last of Us 2. I do not like them anymore video games as before. Now I rarely play video games. I remember when I bought Resident Evil 4 with great enthusiasm and as it went advancing I was realizing that I did not like anything that was seeing. Later, I realized that Resident Evil was never going to be what it was. I have played and finished many other games. But the ones that really for me worth it would be... Dead Rising 1, Silent Hill 1 and 2, Alan Wake, Bioshock …
When did you start this project? Are you handling this project on your own?
I started this project 2 years ago. Ive done it all by myself practically. Ever some people have helped me with a little script, but 99% is done by me.
How did this project start exactly? What you want to remake the game with a first person point of view? Why the first person point of view in particular?
Really the first person is something fortuitous. I wanted to rebuild the mansion in 3d so people could see it from many different angles on http://Sketchfab.com, but then I think that it could also be seen in the first person and I started a project in Unity with the rooms that I had done.
How would you define art reconstruction in your own words?
Well, artistic reconstruction for me is to transfer art from the past or anchored in its time to the present time and if it is possible to magnificent it with current tools to enjoy or observe more in detail. I think calling what I do artistic reconstruction is overvaluing it a lot but that
Art reconstruction is such a challenge in many ways. In your opinion what were the most difficult aspects of your work with this project?
The most difficult thing is that I am doing everything by myself, I do not know how to program and I do it at a speed in which the quality is very small. To really rebuild art is to repaint or restore paintings or sculptures. What I do is reimagin a work of art. Althrough I try to capture its essence as much as I can.
Art accuracy (colours, envronement etc...) in your project is clean breakmaking compared to the first Resident Evil art direction. How exactly did you work to reach such an accurate result?
I have the mansion in my mind and it will go away. But still I have needed model and at the same time fix me plane by plane each room at the same time so that it was the most exact possible.
Did you already have a previous experience in art reconstruction and if so what was it?
Well, I rebuild my school in 3d and made a game in Unity where you could explore by giving big jumps on it. The truth is that it was left similar.
You used Unity. What do you think of Unity for Developers?
Unity is incredibly intuitive and a tool to develop everything that appears in your mind. Of course, it is an engine. Not an editor. You need the help of design programs and modelling or drawing. But that is where you can give it a sense of interaction with it. Unity is amazing.
The game is currently in beta. Do you intend to keep up the project? Are there key features that you really would like to implement in upcoming updates?
I continue to develop by people will be very disadjunct because I do not see myself capable of implementing an inventory or storage system. There the game can only be completed in one go. I am adding unreleased scenes and moments and will try to add some weapon more. I have also made zombies can be split in half or mutilated. In fact, the zombies were already mutilable but they were creating a lot of glitches and I had to make them simpler for the beta.
Are you thinking of asking another programr / any other developer to help with the project?
Yes and no. This project is a waste of time for anyone who wants to get money out of it and I understand that it is so. Also any programr who takes a look at its structure, it will laugh at me and also I don A friend already sorted, but I think ended up unhinged by the Messiness of the project, but yeah I-d love one or two programmers in the project.
What do you advice for people interested in starting to develop their own game?
A tip? make games to have fun you and your friends. To capture your artistic concerns and show it to others.

That was some reconstruction work. It's crazy what fans can do out of passion!
I hope there will be a follow-up story to plug the biggest bugs because it's really taking.
