In San Francisco, Jill Valentine is facing a new zombie epidemic. While Leon Kennedy is on the track of a kidnapped DARPA scientist, Claire Redfield is tracking a monstrous whale killer fish. Benefiting from the most accomplished CGI animation of the five opus using the motion capture, this Death Island is a series B of horrific action in the 6th game movement (as Vendetta before him) where the simplistic plot, worthy of a Z that stains (again and always a new biological weapon that must be stopped), is only a pretext to throw away all the tropes of the videoludic franchise. The iconic heroes are on the side, the horrific bestiary (huge boss of the end included to weld with a big slow-loading knead) walks this and there, the references to the saga abound, the staging in fact of the crates, the rhythm is ultra-welded and the action over-the-top is very impressive. A gift for fans!

Since the Blu-ray is more than amazing, the present UHD HDR10 transfer only narrows slightly as it approaches perfection (to a small handful of color banding)!
The definition is a stronger hair during the passages plunged into the dark, the piqué gains sporadically in refinement (outside scenes enlivened with marked kinetic blur) and the slight granularity of the room benefits from better homogeneity.
The colorimetric palette, which is regularly attenuated by the darkness of the place, has slightly richer hues (predominantly grey blue) (green directional signs, Claire Redfield's red leather jacket, yellow bodyguards), contrasts add a tantinet of depth to the blacks (without butchering them) and shine to the whites, and light sources (reflections on the bodywork, artificial lighting, control monitors, daylight) reach an additional radiance.

If the LFE channel lacks (a little) punch, this Atmos soundtrack as exaggerated as the action it accompanies benefits from a dynamic with certain fire power (cf. the realism of the shots), diffuses its effects (monstrous and/or pyrotechnics) and other atmospheres (road traffic, crowds, San Francisco Bay) with excellent spatial distribution, lets fully roar the lateral, rear and vertical channels (the creatures, echoes in tunnels, explosions, helicopters), dispenses clear voices and incorporates, not without scale, the heroic score of Rei Kondoh with perfect ease.
As powerful as his 3D friend and exploiting accomplished horizontal spatialization, the VF(I) ensures the job with plume. And for whom is equipped with a virtualization DSP, the enabler allows to recover almost all of the air activity.
CONCLUSION - Next biological threat!
If bioterrorists and their viruses go and come tirelessly into the world of Resident EvilOur heroes, all together for the first time, don't let go... Especially in 4K Ultra HD (A/V performances at the height of the threat) where their physical and choreographic prowess appear unequivocally!
