WORK – Retirement Can Wait
Rambo is now settled in Arizona where he leads a quiet life in his huge ranch. He shares his life with the family he chose, Maria and his granddaughter Gabriela, with whom he feels surrounded and soothed. But Gabriela goes secretly to Mexico in the footsteps of her biological father. There, she is kidnapped by a gang of drug traffickers who also engage in prostitution. Rambo goes looking for him.
For his baroud d ́honneur, the ex green beret declares war on the Mexican cartel! Crepuscular, sad and full of internalized rabies (except during the final carnage), this series B short and without fioriture worn by the increventiv Sylvester Stallone gives a violent and avenging epilogue to the saga Rambo.
IMAGE – Fire and blood
Despite « defects » not related to this UHD Dolby Vision transfer (very rough passages, less well defined planes and changes not always happy with colors from one plane to another), we benefit from enhanced details (the landscapes around the farm, injuries), a wider colorimetric palette (the secondary shades are more vibrant and the photograph warmer), more balanced contrasts (the blacks are richer – see inside tunnels – and the whites are clearer) and more radiant light sources (the neons in the nightclub, daylight, flames and various luminaires).
SON – At the end of the arrow, grief!
More posed than his great warrior brothers, this opus wanting to be more intimate proposes a soundtrack less worn on the war. It does not prevent that spatialization is nicely immersive (the surrounding activity is particularly agitated during the various killings), the sufficiently engaged dynamic, the score of Brian Tyler pleasantly enveloping and the dialogues always of great clarity (even when chaos reigns). But if the LFE channel does not lack punch, it rarely digs into the depths of low frequencies.
The VO Dolby Atmos, recorded at a lower volume than its French consœur (very muscular at its height), remains to be preferred in order to enjoy the effects of height (especially during tunnel scenes where the slightest noise resonates).
CONCLUSION – The « war » Too much?
No rest for the Vietnam War veteran who returns even stronger in 4K Ultra HD. Don't fuck him!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
