WORK – The clock of the apocalypse will ring!
Hero, a notorious criminal, is sent to help a kidnapped girl who has disappeared in a supernatural universe. Within this territory called Ghostland, they will try to break the curse that keeps them captive as mysterious returnees.
Animated by a crazy creative impulse and flourishing good love of the bis, this cocktail of art and explosive essay that coincides the encounter of two bursting spirits (the eccentric Sono Sion and the exalted Nicolas Cage), depopulates a rereading « absurd » and activist (patriarchate, communism, paternal figure and trumpism take for their rank) of the allegorical novelThe Animal Farmwhere genres (western spaghetti, samurai film and post-nuke SF) and cultures (eastern and western) intersect in a fantasy post-apo universe full of incongruous sequences. Generous but far from accessible to all, this gonzo-punk trip « all leather clothed » is a singular radioactive work!

IMAGE – Beyond the dome of thunder, the pinku eiga!
Little subtle and stylized to the extreme, the sumptuous photography is buffed by this UHD HDR10 transfer to the radiant beauty... Because more precise than its HD counterpart and reinforced by inflexible compression (so fog is never a problem), the barred image of textures and colors lets express the HDR well beyond the 12 hours of the dial!
The precision of the frame is affluent (the wide planes get naked), the neon-impregnated colorimetric palette is saturated to death (the reds seem unreal), the sets of contrasts are excellently held (deep blacks at will and sterile whites as possible) and the bright sources, fantastically frantic, illuminate the places visited with an intensity never taken in default.

Chaotic in the right sense of the word, this soundtrack DTS-HD MA 5.1 (not to be doubted, a 3D mixing would have been a real plus) never stopped getting comfortable to be connected with the visuals « broken » the border town of Samurai Town and the desolate territory that Ghostland is.
Unsurprisingly, the spatialization of sound is optimal and the balance between voices, sounds and music is impeccable. The atmospheres and effects fill the listening room regularly, the bass are painful and the dynamic range is wide.
CONCLUSION – Get out of your Cage!
Working for the future, this magnificently excessive 4K Ultra HD accepts to move forward and leaves behind it the past... Like her « hero » Redeemer!
