WORK – Countdown O2

A young woman wakes up alone in a cryogenic unit. She no longer knows who she is, or how she ended up locked in a capsule the size of a coffin. As she starts to run out of oxygen, she'll have to recompose the elements of her memory to get out of this nightmare.

Despite writing strings, this scientific survival claustrophobe worn by Mélanie Laurent fully embraces its concept. Because really suffocating, the race against the clock that is being played in full camera can rely on a scenario that carves off revelations and a staging as inventive as it is mastered. Will you survive this extreme confinement?

IMAGE – Can we lock the light?

Natively captured and mastered in 4K, image « Dark » Encoded in Dolby Vision is excellent.

Not suffering much from compression despite difficult lighting conditions, it delivers details of incredible sharpness (there are almost only close planes), more or less bright colors (where the primary explodes in the cryogenic chamber, the colorimetric palette is more measured during memories) perfectly saturated, ultra-modern contrasts (the whites are bright and the blacks are abyssal) and bright light sources at will.

SON – In space, no one will hear you scream...

With a fantastic sound design, the soundtrack proposed in Dolby Atmos is not as narrow as the place of action.

Very voluminous and with a remarkable acoustic balance, she uses at the slightest opportunity all the speakers that are allocated to her to lock us, us spectators, in the hell of this coffin where our only unfortunate companions are the (perfectly implemented) velvety voice of MILO and the electronic sounds of the capsule.

Dynamics don't let it happen, basses don't drop pressure and spatialization is just fabulous. And since heroin is always lying down, the height scene is used almost systematically!

CONCLUSION – Breathe as much as you can!

If it is not as distressing as Buried, Oxygen Yet a breath-taking SF thriller remains! And not to end up asphyxiated, the SVOD Netflix platform offers us a good breath of fresh air thanks to high-fly A/V services.

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
