WORK – In search of freedom
After the economic collapse of the working-class city of Nevada, where she lived, Fern decided to take the road aboard her equipped van and adopt a nomad life of modern times, in breach of the standards of today's society.
Based on Jessica Bruder's book, this multi-faceted, humane drama that won three awards at the 93rd Oscar Ceremony (Best Film, Best Actress and Best Director) is an ode to romantic wandering and wandering. A fable about the economic crisis carried by an upsetting Frances McDormand, this unique film of its kind, populated by real nomads, talks about the human condition with a rare social realism and poetic sensitivity.
IMAGE – Beauty is everywhere
Technically solid, this HD transfer that embraces the beauty of the American West and does not suffer from any compressive anomaly does justice to the magnificent photography (cf. the illuminations of the external sequences) of the Opshua chief James Richards.
The details are consistent all along (the faces of the elders), the permanent sharpness of the plans is estimated, the natural colors are of a harsh splendour and the good gradation of the blacks brings the necessary depth to the poorly lit scenes.
SON – Turn on the radio!
With a subtle surround activity that gives life to many environmental effects, this multichannel soundtrack rocked by a melancholic score (signed Ludovico Einaudi, the composer of the dramatic comedy Untouchables) preserves its frontal perspective with clearly defined dialogues on the power station.
Point of big dynamics or low frequencies here, there is not the subject, but an acoustic mixing of a nice softness that perfectly corresponds to its nature.
CONCLUSION – On the road...
If freedom is within reach of asphalt, the A/V merits of this Blu-ray can lead you there. Take the road!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

A film that echoes Minari if I don't abuse it!
That's right. 😉
