Twenty years ago, a team of female speleologists had come to steal all our horror movie expectations. With The Descent (2005), Neil Marshall countered his first feature film Dog Soldiers (2002), where a horde of garous wolf besieged a fragile Highlands house. Exits the big biscotos from the marines and other lycanthropes doped with testosterone. The Descent will be an exclusively feminine film, or almost, since the only representative of the male gentleman will only be entitled to a replica before being immediately killed, even though the generic had not yet had time to display the entire casting. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the release of The Descent, the Fantastic Gérardmer Festival has chosen Neil Marshall as guest of honor of this 33e edition.

Interview with Neil Marshall

With the British filmmaker, MaG retraversed his heteroclite filmography from the assumed B series to the peplum Centurion. His artistic influences and his definite love for hemoglobin were discussed together. From cinema to television, where he featured on two flagship episodes of the cult series Game of Thrones and after a series of critical disappointments in recent years, Neil Marshall awaits the graceful return with new original projects... And a possible return of lycanthropists to London this time...
