WORK – My son my battle
Edmond Murray, divorced, moved away from his ex-wife and son to pursue an international career. He suddenly returned to the Highlands when his seven-year-old son disappeared. It becomes clear that the child was kidnapped. The parents give in to despair, but Edmond is ready to do anything to find his son and starts a hunt that will force him to go to the end of himself and question all his convictions.
Using the same device as My boy (just like Guillaume Canet in the original film, James McAvoy received no script or dialogue and had to improvise on filming), this auto-remake « without fat » is once again fed by a haunting narrative that does not lack suspense or darkness. However, despite another decor (the mist landscapes of the Scottish moorland), it is difficult to be in unknown land!
IMAGE – From Vercors to the Highlands
With a solid definition, pretty autumnal hues, a refined grain that significantly textures the frame (sometimes chauded by compression) and naturalist contrasts, this HD transfer pampered in broad lines amplifies the realism of the work.
SON – The silence of the rain
A very high quality sound work where everything is in detail... The voices are relevant, the music tense, the bass anxious and all the canals turned to create a natural acoustic space (to 360°) where the rainy atmosphere of the mountainous region « visited » can fully breathe.
CONCLUSION – The redemption of a father
Dry and challenging, this hunt where a father will rehabilitate himself in adversity takes the guts as never on Blu-ray support!
