WORK - Revenge with scarified fists
A man seeking revenge faces a group of corrupt criminals responsible for the murder of his mother and replacing themselves from the poor and the poor.
Infused with the scents of Korean thriller, Hong Kong's heroic bloodshed and Bollywood cinema, this cocktail of influences surmounted by the stoicism of John Wick has the (good) taste of fury. For rage in the belly, Dev Patel (front and behind the camera) embarks on a punitive expedition with incredible vitality where political anger (against the hypocrisy of the government of Narendra ModīThe corruption of society, the exploitation of women, the looting of peasants and the exclusion of minorities) let the fists speak out in pieces of bravery to the unbridled brutality. And despite too much frenzy, this cathartic entertainment where chaos prevails sweats sincerity. In short, a first punched movie with a heart.

IMAGE - sweat and blood
Visually quite exceptional in view of its limited budget and its painful production, this digital capture from various sources (of variable quality) is magnified by the present UHD HDR10 transfer which, despite rare increases in digital noise (an average bitrate of 68.4 Mbit/s), perfectly follows the infernal rate at which the images (fishes in the low neighborhoods and blinking in the high spheres) chain together.
The restitution of details is improved (on faces, costumes and decors), the many moving scenes gain in legibility and clarity, the colorimetric palette with eclectic hues (orange/yellow here, violet/blue there and a tip of green in this corner) benefits from increased vibrance (a boon when the bright tones abound) and contrasts, far from being conservative, enrich the darkness (even if it may happen to the blacks to lack depth) while maximising the brightness of the light sources (light of the flames during flashbacks and acidity of the neon in the VIP Room). MaxFALL was measured at 117 cd/m2 and MaxCCL at 736 nits.
SOUND - The Monkey of Wisdom
Even if it is more frontal than expected and very little carried on the verticality (if it is for a helicopter and a few ambiances), the striking and well distributed VO Dolby Atmos (16-bit, 3209 kbps) wants to get rid of it...
The dynamics have no pity, the rears open the acoustic space as needed (crowd shouts, gun detonation, crowded streets), the very diverse soundtrack is well highlighted, the dialogues are strongly exuded by the power station and the LFE channel is regularly devastating (cf. the savagery of the blows).
Effective despite less precision (due to its compression), the VF Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 (16-bit, 768 kbps) stands for a certain power and a good multichannel operation. Seriously incorporated, dubbing is distinguished by its quality.
CONCLUSION - Incarnation of Shiva
Echoing the legend of Hanumān, this adrenaline shoot which stands violently against oppression, greed and injustice sees, through frantic technical performances, its crazy warm-ups as never before on 4K Ultra HD support. It'll hit!
